FALSE ALARM! Sorry team. Benched. Barrie was benched.

It still doesn't change the fact he isn't in tonight's game... boo.

Sadly, Barrie being scratched all but guarantees the Avs win. Stupid decisions like this seem to get justified with Sacco by a lucky win. Knowing this, the Avs will be heavily out played, but win. Sacco will then use this as reinforcement that he made the right choice, and scratch Barrie again next game.

I wouldn't be upset with Barrie being scratched if it wasn't for Hunwick, Zanon, and SoB.

What is it with Sacco's love of these Hunwick/Cumisky type defensemen.

As someone said before, this is starting to become more and more like a support group for Avs fans instead of a message board. Victims of Sacco abuse we'll call it.

Ugh, Barrie is the only fun dman to watch on the Avs...maybe OBrien too with his one handed shenanigans , watch the Avs win like 8-2 or something.

Is EJ back? Makes sense on paper then. Go with the "veterans" in the big game, give Barrie one night off to show his job isn't safe, and a few games in the line up to keep his spot before Wilson returns.

The issue is who our "veterans" are.

Maybe because Hunwick sucks so much, he can't have a drop off in play... therefore he can't be benched. I finally get Sacco logic... consistency.

Its probably a ruse, and Barrie is getting traded. I may cry and then, once I can see through the tears, start rooting for Phoenix/Seattle/wherever they go.

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Hunwick and O'Byrne can't have drop offs, so they will forever be in our lineup and lead this team in ice time.

They may play like ****, but they play like **** consistently and as such, will always have a place on the Avs blue line.

Some might think talking to the player and tell him he needs to improve on a few things (maybe even explain how) would lead to even better results. I'm not a coach obviously but I don't think punishing a rookie who was a little overwhelmed in a game against the best team in the league (but still wasn't a minus player) and ignoring the mistakes of other players is a good idea. I would understand it if Barrie was lazy against the Hawks or the Wings but that wasn't the case. Sacco is punishing a rookie for being a rookie and makes the team worse at the same time. Even worse, this is one of those games which can be extremely valuable for the development of a player.

I would love to say that this is the biggest mistake Sacco has ever made in his history as an Avs or LEM coach but I'm not even sure it makes the top 10, unfortunately.

Barrie finally had some confidence. He is the last person who needs to sit a game to be shown his job isn't safe.

This will only hurt him.

C'mon guys Joe's just using the the time honored "Magic 8 Ball" and asked should I play Barrie tonight? And the answer was:

"My sources say no"

At this point it could be a legitimate possibility that Barrie is sent down Sunday.

I have never been this angry about something Sacco has done before, but I am truly in a rage right now! HOW THE **** does he scratch Barrie, while the ******* retards like Hunwick, Obyrne, and Zanon are playing.

This is insanity, pure ******* insanity. If Barrie is sent down on Sunday, Vancouver 2010 needs to become Colorado 2013.

Sacco is a psychopath, no other way around it.
