It's a collection of AHLers and over the hill goalies.

So....Briere to LA? I've been banging the "KEEP OUR PICKS" drum for a long time now, but I could deal with something + Briere for Bernier.

I just hope Anthony Stolarz becomes the next name on the last and is the only name on it for 7-10 years.

yep, it's all their fault. we'd have multiple CUPS if it wasn't for them ...
how quick everyone forgets. bryzgalov is just smart enough to actually get paid for the abuse and pressure he's taken.

Pretty funny. It would be cool next year, yeah, but what about in 2 years? Giroux at 7M+ and Perry at 9M? That's without counting that Couturier will need to be re-signed, Matt Read too, etc. Get real people. Giving a 9M contract to a under-PPG forward (except for one season) would simply kill us. Can't believe people here are complaining about Briere's contract and they want to give someone else a 9M contract.

Don't worry, I have not forgotten about the time Leighton (on that list) actually did cost the team a Cup.

Sign Jagr for one year, maybe Cousins makes the team?
Didn't Jagr sign a 2 years deal at 4.5? And I don't think Leopold would fix our D. Mez will also probably get injured, Kimmo will be even older, we'll suck as much as this year.

Yeah a trade for a Dman is probably necessary since there isn't too many quality UFA defensemen.

Jagr is on a one year deal but I haven't seen him play much in Dallas

yep, clearly Bryz's fault & he deserves the outrage seen here after the game.
That's exactly what my beef with the team last night. I'm glad Hartnell agrees with me.

It's actually the argument you ignore: 0.899 save percentage + $5.67M cap hit = unsustainable combination in a salary cap world = buyout.

A one game sample in which you have conveniently found a game where no one can really blame Bryz for his 0.750 save percentage, does not gloss over his overall poor numbers.

Sutter on Quick after their 5-2 loss to Dallas:

“Well, I think we didn’t get good enough goaltending tonight,” Sutter said. “We need to raise the save percentage. It’s a stat that tells the truth. If there’s one stat that doesn’t lie … right? (Dallas’ Kari) Lehtonen was at about .940 or so. That’s a stat that always holds true.”

Oh, and every single goal Quick let in was the exact type of goal Bryz apologists would say wasn't Mr Universe's fault. News flash, you have to make big saves, and Lehtonen did.

that's real easy to say after your goalie wins a CUP & Conn Smythe ....sounds like he's trying to light a fire under him ....and Quick's personality & the LA media might be good places for that.

Hartnell on the Flyers after last night:

"“It was a big letdown,” winger Scott Hartnell said. “I don’t know why we stopped playing from the way we were in the first period. We were fast, quick, hitting, getting into the extra-curricular activities after the whistle and we were playing Flyer hockey. Then we just sat back, and when you do that against (Evgeni) Malkin and (Sidney) Crosby, these guys are snipers and make plays."

i'm not concerned about the LA Kings ..... i AM concerned that this lack of hustle keeps occurring with my favorite team ..... and it's pretty funny that when it does happen, so many here turn to the goalie as "the problem", even though the consensus is that Bryz didn't let in any bad goals ..... the one debatable goal was one he never saw to an opponent who was undefended

Do you really expect Hartnell to call out Bryz? Bryz is a total mental case. You have to treat him like he's a 10 year old.

On the other hand Quick can probably handle the criticism that's why Sutter called him out.

His cap hit does not = his play on the ice. Its not about whether its his fault or anybodies fault, nor about whether hes a good guy or not or whether he deals with pressure well or not. The simple matter is we could get the same numbers he posts at a fraction of the cap hit with michael leighton in net.

The difference b/w the goalies on that list and Bryz is that they don't have a 9 year $51M contract to live up to.

Of course, I and probably many others here, still blame Leighton for losing us the Cup in 2010. That goal he gave up was weak and makes me mad just thinking about it. I need to listen to a soothing song now. Excuse me...

Is there any objective statistic or measure that you can use to back up your assertion that Bryz is... i dunno, good? above average? [MOD]
