Every year Phil starts off with a couple bad results and people think his career is done. Then he goes and destroys the field and people say he's the Masters favourite.

I wouldn't say Phil's "destroying" the field this week, though he is playing well. Driving it well with that driver too.

Extremely easy course at TPC Scottsdale with probably some of the easiest putting greens on tour.

Rookie Daniela Holmqvist was bitten by a Black Widow spider on the 4th hole of a LPGA pre-qualifier. She dug out the venom with her tee and finished the round. What a beast.

Absolutely incredible. Too bad she didn't qualify, she should get in based off that alone. Wow.

Do Tiger and Rory always have to match each-other with early exits? My two favorite players need to smarten up.

Hoping for Sat-Sun final pairings at the Honda and Doral.

So sick and tired of these ****ers hounding Rory like they've been doing to Tiger for the past 15 years.

Leave him alone.

Well, WD's because of wisdom tooth pain/sucking are not cool. Phil did it with his "mental fatigue" excuse last year and took **** for it. It's not fair to the people who pay to see you play.

I think it's becoming obvious that McIlroy will never become a Tiger/Jack esque player who consistintly dominates, but will be a Phil esque player who dominates and wins, then dissapears for a stretch, dominates, then dissapears, etc.

Completely agree. I just think that the media made way too much out of it though.

As for Rory and whether he'll consistently dominate, I think the jury is still out on that. Tiger struggled in the latter half of 97 and 98 pretty mightily before he really started rolling. With Rory, I don't think he'll ever approach that level of dominance either but I could see him winning 3-4 tournaments a year with a major every other year for the rest of his career.

Really fun watching Tiger play this well. He could even be lower too if not for a few bad breaks on Thursday.

Wish Rory was a bit lower but that's an impressive looking leader-board.

Tiger with win #76 tomorrow? I think only 4 guys have a legitimate chance of taking this one.

Woods, Gmac, Mickelson and Stricker. Some great golf from all 4 this week but I don't think anyone is catching Tiger. It'd be surprising with the way he's playing.

Tiger is 21-0 when taking a 3 or more shot lead into the final round. Its his to lose. Just a shame we missed out on a Tiger/Phil pairing tomorrow.

I like McDowell but I was hoping he hit one in the water on 18 just so we could see a Tiger/Phil pairing tomorrow.

I don't follow golf too closely, but how rare is it for somebody to shoot the best round of a tournament for all 4 rounds? I can't remember it happening myself, but right now Woods has shot the best round 3 days in a row.

Tiger with #76. Ho-hum Sunday but he was pretty conservative for the most part just guiding it home.

Hope he can bring this game to Augusta.

Tiger is pretty darn close to "the level" we used to see before the incident. With a short iron in hand he was money, seemed 160 yards and in he was within 15 feet all the time. I don't doubt he'll win a major this year, just don't think he'll be there at Augusta with the right to left fade he plays all the time now.

If Tiger wins bay hill he is number one on the rankings again, but I feel he will take bay hill as a tournament to work out any kinks in his game so he is perfectly ready for Agusta.
