Losing Dowling and Wandell will make the center position interesting tonight.
Morin, Petersen, Vause, Sceviour, and Wathier have all played center at times this year. Vause gets PP time so they could look to him to center the 2nd line. This is the first time in a while Chiasson, Sceviour, and Vincour have been healthy or on the roster together. I imagine they'll all stay at RW, but it would be interesting to see if Vincour plays some LW.
Mike Valley better stick around for a long time. Jack Campbell doesn't look like the same overaggressive goalie flopping around the ice anymore we watched in the WJC. It really is impressive how much his game has changed.
He's already made several big saves to keep them down by only 1.
Fraser with another 2 goal game. When does he get to stay with the big club?
How's he fit?
One way ... obviously trade Brenden Morrow .... then if Mike Brown is worth a conditional 4th that can become a 3rd, Nystrom is probably worth a 3rd. That'd probably be enough for Dallas to consider moving him. I think there's some good arguments to be made for keeping him, but if Joe believes Fraser is NHL ready this is one way to make it happen now.
Some will say that's a demotion for Roussel, but he's still mostly used as a 10 minute player. He's minutes won't be reduced probably at all since Gully has done a good job of rolling 4 lines ever since Fiddler was dropped down from 3rd line center. Joe has made it pretty clear Fraser and Smith though aren't going to play down the lineup so they'd need Top 9 roles.
That's pretty much the only way to get Fraser in now. They could all of a sudden decide Smith needs to go back to the AHL and bring Fraser up instead, but we're half way through the season essentially, and every moved they've made up to this point indicates Smith is still ahead of him on the depth chart.
