I understood. I was saying that today's video meant everyone had improved to regular practice sweaters ... should have worded it better.

This sucks:

Although per NHL rules, after the trade dealine on Apr 3, only AHL players called up after that date may be returned to the AHL. 2/2
The first part was about no clear day roster.

They've got to at least ensure Reilly Smith and Jamie Oleksiak are in the AHL the day of the trade deadline ... which would mean they miss a game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Ideally, Eakin, Smith, Roussel, Dillon, Oleksiak, and Jordie Benn would all be able to play in the AHL playoffs, but I don't see how they could accomplish that.

Honestly ... I'd call up Wandell, Petersen, Sloan, and keep up Benn. That way at least Eakin, Smith, Oleksiak, and Dillon could join Texas for a hopefully very long playoff run.

One potential loss on trade deadline day would be worth it.

Dowling injured last game, and they said Wandell is out for unspecified reasons (speculation is illness).

More importantly, Chiasson is back ... so is Sloan.

Losing Dowling and Wandell will make the center position interesting tonight.

Morin, Petersen, Vause, Sceviour, and Wathier have all played center at times this year. Vause gets PP time so they could look to him to center the 2nd line. This is the first time in a while Chiasson, Sceviour, and Vincour have been healthy or on the roster together. I imagine they'll all stay at RW, but it would be interesting to see if Vincour plays some LW.

Scratches and Starters:

Tonight's scratches include: Dowling, Nemeth, Fortunus, Wandell, Glennie, Fyten, Coyle & Gazdic. #TxStars
Quote:
Texas Stars Hockey ‏@TexasStars

Starting for your Texas Stars: Tyler Sloan & Hubert Labrie on D. Hedden, Vause and Chiasson up front. Campbell between the pipes. #TxStars
Based on the Starting Line, my guess is the forwards are:

Fraser-Morin-Sceviour
Hedden-Vause-Chiasson
Cameron/Jones-Petersen-Vincour
Tousignant-Wathier-Jones/Cameron

Well that goal looked just like the crap going on in Dallas.

Chicago forward from behind the net passes to an uncovered forward who buries it. Campbell has no chance.

Not a great start ... Chicago won last time be just sitting on a lead.

Mike Valley better stick around for a long time. Jack Campbell doesn't look like the same overaggressive goalie flopping around the ice anymore we watched in the WJC. It really is impressive how much his game has changed.

He's already made several big saves to keep them down by only 1.

This is going to get interesting if he misses the remainder of the game ... Vause hurt blocking a shot.

Will they bring Wathier or Petersen up to the 2nd line?

EDIT: Quite a bit of blood. Seems like he took a puck in the nose. He blocks the shot with his stick, and it deflects into his face.

TEX allowed CHI to pass at will through the box on the PP. They score on another shot Campbell didn't have a shot on.

Vincour scores on broken play the next shift to tie it.

... and the bleeding continues. Campbell deked out on breakaway. Nilstorp coming into the game.

Sucks for Campbell ... even Newkirk agreed. Only goal he had a chance on was breakaway.

Seems like every game against Chicago, they've really struggled.

Fraser with another 2 goal game. When does he get to stay with the big club?

How's he fit?

One way ... obviously trade Brenden Morrow .... then if Mike Brown is worth a conditional 4th that can become a 3rd, Nystrom is probably worth a 3rd. That'd probably be enough for Dallas to consider moving him. I think there's some good arguments to be made for keeping him, but if Joe believes Fraser is NHL ready this is one way to make it happen now.

Eriksson-Benn-Jagr
Whitney/Fraser-Roy-Cole
Whitney/Fraser-Eakin-Smith
Roussel-Fiddler-Garbutt

Some will say that's a demotion for Roussel, but he's still mostly used as a 10 minute player. He's minutes won't be reduced probably at all since Gully has done a good job of rolling 4 lines ever since Fiddler was dropped down from 3rd line center. Joe has made it pretty clear Fraser and Smith though aren't going to play down the lineup so they'd need Top 9 roles.

That's pretty much the only way to get Fraser in now. They could all of a sudden decide Smith needs to go back to the AHL and bring Fraser up instead, but we're half way through the season essentially, and every moved they've made up to this point indicates Smith is still ahead of him on the depth chart.

Welp...this seems bad for Texas. Looks like Dowling did take a hit to the head the other day because House got suspended for it.

Man .... sounds like Dowling isn't ready yet, no update on Vause, and the team has lost Wathier and Fraser to call up.

Going to be an interesting mix of forwards tonight.

I hope the reffing will be better.

But yes...it's going to a rough night I think. Surprised Texas hasn't done any PTOs.

Looks like Chaisson is back according to lack of being scratched from twitter.

I'm kind of pissed, I thought I had tickets tonight...did not.

Stupid half-season ********.
