Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson. And Ottawa passes, MPS hasn't looked that great - 4 goals in 38 AHL games this year.

Seriously Paajarvi has been the Oilers best forward for the last two weeks, looks like he's finally figuring out the North American game. Not trading him for a backup.

You obviously haven't watched an Oilers game this year.

Not close to fair value for Paajarvi. The guy is still very young and is huge and skates like the wind. He's been getting more and more adjested to the NA game and is one of the very few forwards on the Oil the fans have been happy with.

Why do we need a goalie? Dubnyk is fine.

We'd still be losing 6-0 if we had Quick or Lundquist on our team.

MPS is our best bottom 6 forward. He's going nowhere.

please stay away from prv, very few people on these boards understands that he is still quite valuable to us.

Bishop has top notch stick handling. He would help the Oilers get out of the defensive zone.

Obviously i think ottawa would have to add. But you're underrating bishop. He may be a backup now, but he has starter potential.

It's like me calling MPS a bottom 6 forward.

It's like me saying "i'm not trading a goalie who's been playing like an all star the past couple weeks for a bottom 6 forward"

Obviously i'm smart enough to know that MPS has potential. Maybe it would be wise for you to admit bishop has potential. You don't trade a 2nd for an inexperienced goalie if he only has backup potential.

So essentially it's a bottom 6 forward with top 6 potential for a backup goalie with starter potential. The forward has more raw talent, and is younger, therefore has more value.

I would offer:

Bishop
Daugavins
3rd round pick

for

MPS

Edmonton declines this though.

Edmonton keeps him for the potential...ottawa doesn't give up much more due to risk.

i think it's a decent trade. Both teams trading from a position of strength.

i dont think edmonton considers it though because they still seem to be playing the prospects lottery game, waiting to see who turns out and who doesnt. Not quite ready to start trading away prospects before a full evaluation for outside help.

Paajarvi has been great and I would not pass on him. Never got a shot last year and wasn't given much of one once he was up with Oilers this year but he worked hard and got the chance to be a top 6 forward and I have liked what I have seen from him.

I said before. There's no goalie which is going to solve Edmonton's problems in net until the team starts playing decent team defense. We simply can't score in 5 on 5 situations because our players insist on doing everything in a manner which looks pretty.

gotta remember, other people believe we will give away a guy like MPS for nothing.

If the oilers trade MPS they will regret it. Oilers wont trade him for a guy who is in the NHL becuase rthe starting goalie is injured. Once Anderson comes back, Bishop goes back to the farm

Wrong. Bishop is on a one-way deal, and has been in the NHL all year, including before Andy's injury. He is also RFA after the year.

Bishop the ''backup'' is better than your starter

PRV is awful will not be a top 6 forward. Sens need a better piece

Bishop could be a really good goalie, but MPS is a high price to pay for a potential good goalie.

Not a fan of MPS. Thought he was overrated on draft day, and my opinion still stands. I'd rather the Sens stay away from him.

Oilers need a better goalie than Devyn Dubnyk. He's awful. Whether or not that's Ben Bishop, that's a different question. However they do need an upgrade if they want to actually compete for the playoffs any time soon.

This is an absolute joke, right? Ottawa has to add to acquire MPV, MPS or whatever the heck his name is? He hasn't done anything the last two years in Edmonton to render such a return. Quit overrating this guy. I wouldn't trade Bishop straight up for MPV if I were Ottawa.

He is a second or third line guy that hasn't produced at all the last two years and you say he is a high price to pay for Bishop? Don't get this one at all.

Good solid first season in 2010-2011 --- 15-19-34
Since: in 60 games 6-6-12

That is far from being a high price.

Obviously you don't know squat when it comes to the Oilers. If you ahd actually watched our games you'd know that in the vast majority of games Dubnyk has kept us in the game rather than being blown out. He ocassionnally gives up a bad goal...but the loses aren't his fault usually.

The offense is stagnant right now...hence not scoring in 2 straight games. But yes...adding a backup with better stickhandling will fix the problem

Nobody said he's untouchable, but Bishop really does nothing for Edm, whereas Paajarvi has developed in our system and looks like he could become a second liner. At worst he'll be a top 3rd liner.
