The Avs are all over the hawks 3-1 right now. Got hosed on a puck over the glass call. I'm not sure how 4 refs could miss a guy shooting a puck over that blatantly. It looked like he was aiming for the 15th row

4 years ago Hossa signed with Chicago at age 30, his contract gives him $59.3 million in the first 8 years.

Lecavalier: $78.5 million in first 8 years of deal

Kovalchuk: $79 million in first 8 years

Weber: $92 million over 8 years

Getzlaf: $66 million, 8 years. The only difference is Getz doesn't have a bunch of cheap years tacked on to the end to drop the cap, but Anaheim doesn't spend to the cap, so they don't care.
this sums it up pretty well, he must be ****ing pissed he became a ufa right after the cba expired.

4-1 Avs. I'm so sick of hearing about Chicago and I hope this is the one they lose in regulation.

It would be great if Chicago starts another streak after this game. A massive losing streak.

Like they did a few seasons ago? Still, the hawks could probably lose 15 in a row and still make the playoffs.

All this hype about Chicago reminds me of the golden years of San Jose and Vancouver. We all knew what happens once the playoffs came.

Don't hate the Hawks, but us being the first victim of their streak pisses me off.

Except this group of players have already proven their worth in the playoffs.

Chicago is not San Jose.

Finally, I'm not a big fan of the Hawks but I also didn't want to have to deal with all the ******** if the Hawks managed to pass the 35 game streak mark.

Across two seasons
Only against one conference
Shortened season
Addition of the shootout

Just too many variables. I know that argument would've went on forever.

What does that have to do with anything? Did they not award a point for a tie or OTL when Philly set the record? (honest question)

There were no OT's, straight tie after regulation.

Could be wrong, but I don't think there were pity points back then. Not to mention overtime was only added in the early 80s.
