Zach Boychuk to Nashville

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Waivers: Boychuk awarded to NSH from PIT. Pit places Kostopoulos and Wsh places Hamrlik on Waivers.

Seeing as how Nashville is imploding, this is a decent pick-up.

Didn't really show anything in his few games here, but didn't get that good of a chance either. He needs to go to a team that'll let him play regularly to see if he can/can't play in the leauge.

Well, currently, only our young players (Smith, Bourque, Wilson, Josi) are playing worth crap, so maybe Boychuk will fit into that group.

he literally can't be worse than our "top six" has played over the last month.

It's official, Nashville is the new New York Islanders. Soon they'll have the record to match.

Not that it's a bad move, or I hate it, just funny that our team is so awful that we have to pick up everyone that gets waived.

Here is what I can say about him in his 7 games with the Penguins.

He's fast, he will hit, he makes good passes.

He's had some good scoring chances also.

I think the Predators fans will like him, I like his game, but I knew he was the odd man out in Pittsburgh.

I think boychuk has lots of potential still and he will definitely get opportunity in Nashville! Way more happy with this pickup than butlers yesterday lol.
Welcome to Smashville Zach!

He always looks good playing with vastly superior players (Eric Staal, Evgeni Malkin). But that rarely (if ever) translates into points.

I hope he does well in Nashville.

He won't have that issue here.

Good luck, Manchuk! Was hoping you'd get more looks in Pitts on more appropriate lines (wasn't a good fit with Geno and Neal), but alas. Hopefully he makes something of this opportunity!

Never hurts to score a goal in your first game, eh?

Beside Wilson, Boychuk was probably our best forward tonight. Started a little slow, but got more and more comfortable as the game went on. Very nearly had a second goal, but his shot hit the inside of the post and deflected out.

Why did Washington put Hamrlik on waivers? wasn't he picked by the Rangers?
