Yup. Move laterally in front of the net to get the goalie moving side to side and rip it into the corner he's sliding away from

Yep, that play is gold.... If one can do it, few defensman allow it but in Calvert's case he got away with it...

This kid is earning his ice time.. he has a good head.

I once tried the NHL '98 drag shot across the slot and got cross-checked in the chest for my troubles.

After reading Calvert's description of his goal (a bit lucky) and the comments of those here, I'm not sure who to believe.

Calvert:

It was kind of a weird play," Calvert said. "I was skating backwards at one point, then forwards, then cut to the middle. I saw a D-man back door and figured I just better shoot it, make the simple play. I saw an opening and luckily I beat him.

"It was kind of a broken play and not how you expect to score. But it was awesome to win. When you see all the guys coming over and cheering you on it was that much better."

Seriously, it was a great goal however it happened,but...
