Why send our best players if they risk injury? Look at Teixiera.

i listen to wfan alot and I heard a sound bit from Teixeira before he got hurt in which he called this tournament an "exhibition". That is exactly what it is, a glorified exhibition. How any baseball fan can take this seriously when there is a pitch count limit is beyond me. Imagine the world cup where players can only play 60 minutes . I will watch, but I could really care less if Team USA wins or not. It is basically a spring training game with a more raucous crowd.

Heh, what are the chances the US tanked the game last night so that Mexico could still play a meaningful game today? Had Mexico lost, they would've been playing a meaningless game today. Something to play for = more fans in the stands

why have international competitions at all?

look at soccer, by far the most popular sport and Messi or C.Ronaldo by far the 2 most popular athletes in the world have to go to freaking friendlies if capped by their NT.

Why not hold the tournament after the World Series? Maybe 2 weeks after? The weather wouldn't be a problem if the venues in the US they used are stadiums located in warm weather cities. But the biggest problem would probably be the attendance. The current scheduling feeds off the Spring Training crowd.

This tournament is awful. You have pitchers still working on their control, hitters still working on their timing and it just leads to awful baseball.

Meh it's meaningless, but I still love watching baseball. Especially with a ton of pro players. And at least the guys are playing to win.

To be fair, not exactly the smartest idea to bunt up by 6, but to throw at somebody because of that...

Hopefully, Pete Orr channels his inner Colton Orr and ****s somebody up if Mexico wishes to goon it up.

If Brett Lawrie was healthy, it would've been an absolutely crazy fight.

Call me a bad person, but I want this to get real wild. (Of course with no one getting hurt)

Might just bring the publicity this tournament needs.
