Mark, I assume the 2013 Guide should be available on the Canadian amazon, as well?
We always submit the books to both amazon.com & amazon.ca
It's pretty much out of my hands once I submit them which is frustrating but there is not much i can do. We know there are clients who love the print versions so we want to continue offering them on amazon.
The books go live on amazon.com pretty quickly but it can take an extra week or more for .ca
I bought the Spring book with the list of the top drafted prospects and each teams list. Unfortunately, the girlfriend threw it out with the weekly flyers!!!! I have a few questions to anyone who has it.
I always get really excited diring this time of the year.
Personal opinion here, but since 2009 I always look forward the most to McKeen's out of all the guides, as I feel they feature the most in-depth scouting reports. I was disappointed to find out last year they were going PDF-only (I'm old school), but I printed out the guide and binded it and it looked pretty damn good. Looks like this year the guide will feature write-ups on the top 120 prospects for 2013 + honourable mentions, top 30 for 2014, top 10 for 2015, and even a few for 2016. So, the value should be pretty good and I imagine it will satisfy prospect junkies. I contacted the director of scouting, David Burstyn, and it looks like the guide is being planned for a late May release. If the write-ups are as in-depth as last year, it will definitely be worth the money.

I'll keep updating when the time comes.
Hey Mark. Have you decided on a page count and price for the print version yet? I imagine the Draft Guide will follow the same format as the past 2 years?
I just hope not all the focus is going on the black book, as the draft guide is a cheaper option especially for those who are planning on buying numerous guides. I hope the prospect reports in that book continue to be as in depth as with the past 2 years, but I did notice that the 2012 book wasn't as big (page count - Around 50 pages less) as the 2011 one, and had less prospect reports in total. For instance, 2011 had over 100 full page reports, whereas 2012 had just over 80. I understand the Black Book is likely a big seller, but I hope it doesn't take much away from the Draft Guide. I just don't want to see a situation where the page count and number of reports gets smaller each year.
Thanks.

I got The Hockey News: Draft Preview 2013 in the mail today, so if you're a THN subscriber in Ontario, I would imagine that you'll have the special issue in your hands before the end of the week.
Got my issue of THN today as well, from my subscription (collecting purposes).
Much of the same, in the sense that it's more for the casual draft fan. Features the regular small bio's. At the same time keep in mind this is a $6 magazine, whereas the other ones cost much more, but for good reason.
If you're a hardcore draft/prospect junkie and you want in-depth scouting reports, stick with the other 5 on the main post.
The THN rankings were compiled by HF's resident scout Grant McCagg who consulted with several people.
