Question now at 21-1-3=45 points

With 23 games remaining what do you see the hawks final point total to be and what place will that put them in the conference?

.500 the rest of the way would get them to 68 points and a "chance" to be the #1 seed I'd think.

Not worried about a Presidents trophy or anything, would just like to be assured of HIA all the way through.

Thoughts?

P.S. Tomorrow is going to be tough but a win there, followed by 3 days off could go a long way to setting up the 2nd half for us)

Oilers will probably look to salvage some of their awful roadtrip and they've always caused trouble for the Hawks so I could see it being a hard fought game. That said, I could see the Hawks getting right back on the saddle and get back on the winning way. The three day break couldn't come at a better time, though.

I don't know about .500 being enough to win the presidents trophy. Anaheim has played 2 less games than us and is only 8 points back, so they could come within 4 points back after catching us in Games played. Hopefully you're right, but I don't see it being enough.

I don't see them playing on this level all 48 games... every team will slump at some time

.500 is a really low estimate.

Based on last year, they would need 65 points so it's really not. Ducks would have to keep up the solid play.

I meant for the Hawks to finish the year.

.500 isn't even really .500 in the NHL anyway. Isn't it like .566?

Just because the Ducks will inevitably cool down, that doesn't mean they won't go like .600 and pass us.

With 23 games left, I could see Chicago going something like 15-6-2.

That'd give them a final record of 36-7-5 and 77 points.

If they get anywhere near 77 points they will walk away with the Presidents trophy.

If we ended up with 72 points that would be basically playing .600 the rest of the way winning 6 out of 10. I would be fine with 72 points anything more would be gravy.

72 points maybe is 2nd place in Conference and 60% chance it would be 1st place.

Anaheim would have to play about .750 the rest of the way. I don't think any other team in the Conference could catch us.

Do you still have your Brouwer jersey?

last year 111 pts were enough to win the presidents trophy.

going by last year, 65 pts would be enough to get the PT.

The president's trophy is irrelevant.

This place would sure get dam dull fast if we didn't comment on the team both good and bad.

Maybe some would like an everything is rosy thread after each game. Could have a sticky as well about how great we are.

Final 23 games = 13-8-2 would be reasonable expectation

34-9-5 to finish year with 73 pts

.500 is pretty low for this group. That would be a disappointment for them to play that bad for so long. I don't see (barring injuries) them losing more then 6-7 games in the second half.

they already lost 2 in the 2nd half

they can sit back a bit and will win enough to win the Division

Was a little oddly placed but what he said is quite right. Suggest anything but "the Hawks are perfect" and you'll draw the ire of about half the board, it's a little odd.

Expecting 76-78 points.

It's because people can't separate their wishes and wants from their thoughts and beliefs when it comes to sports.

Do I want the Bulls to win the NBA Championship, of course, do I think they will, no. Now some people will take me believing they won't as not being a fan. To them being a fan means always thinking your team is always going to win no matter the circumstance. It's being blindly loyal and not being able to think critically no matter the circumstances.
