Drew MacIntyre

On February 13th, 2013, the Toronto Marlies signed Drew MacIntyre to a PTO contract. There was barely a murmur in Leaf nation and certainly no hysterics from Marlies fans.
In fact, most hadn’t a clue who this guy was. With Reimer injured and Rynnas called up to the Leafs to back up Scrivens, the Marlies needed some extra cover between the pipes.

It's almost like there's a reason why you didn't know who that guy was...

Under the radar for sure, but I think he now has a Marlie contract for the rest of the year and has played well in his outings. Never hurts to have some depth at goalie around.

Wouldn't a Toronto Marlies action pic work better than a Toronto Marlboros (I think) pic?

Those are the new jerseys in homage to the Marlies (Marlboros) roots.

Was at his first start. Guys got some messed up warmup rituals....legitimately was in butterfly position at the face off dot closest to the bench, just in position and didn't move for 2 minutes.

So him being signed by the Leafs does that mean we are not after a veteran back up anymore?

Not necessarily. It's just extra insurance in case they don't acquire anyone. This just gives them another goalie they can call up if they need one.
