I think Nash wanted out and kind of pushed there hand a little. Just in a classy, non Heatley kind of way.

Sure, depth is important, but at the end of the day it was two grinding forwards for Nash, among assets on our current team.

So we came out of the trade down exactly 1 depth forward, which should have been made up by the addition of Kreider or Miller at least.

This fan doesn't have a problem with it. I think both sides (should) view the trade as a win-win. Dubinsky and Anisimov both bring it every night, Erixon has looked good during this call-up, and the 1st is always good (no offense, but CBJ fans are rooting against the Rangers and the Kings this year).

Rangers win without Nash scoring. That's the biggest upside of today's game. 2 assists for our top forward. Amazing game again

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Rick Nash is in the middle of a career high ten game point scoring streak. Throughout his time with Columbus, Nash had points in nine straight games on three different occasions.

Nash has seven goals and nine assists in the ten game streak and, in the six games since he returned from injury, has six goals and five assists.

Unfortunately Nash has been a non-factor the last few games, after a number of games where he seemed absolutely dominant. Was this his MO in Columbus?

Still a great player at times, but perhaps we're starting to see why he has not ranked in the same sentence as he game's true superstars.

its prob understandable, but a lot of players go games at a time without scoring, then score in bunches.. i blame his play on how the team isn't doing much of anything right now..its easy to shut one guy out, when the players around him arent playing at a high level either.. i didn't see it much in the other previous losses, except for pitt, where its almost as if they double teamed him, took away time and space.. and when you do that to a star they will be off the state sheet.. just like we did the same thing to crosby, he didn't do much, had a few chances but we limited a lot of them..just helps when the players around you pick up the slack..

makes a huge difference in a team and winning and lossing..

Despite keeping Crosby off the scoresheet Saturday I thought Crosby had a very dynamic game....he was involved all over the place, and was his usual puck possession self.

Nash, on the other hand, was virtually invisible Saturday.

understandable, very true.. i was just getting at our team is struggling and its hard even for good players to play if his counter parts/team is/are struggling as well.. we're in a rough patch.. its gut check time and everyone needs to put the hard hat on and work boots and dig deep..

this week is huge for us.. we win 4/5 or go 5/5 we're in good shape..we need a streak, keep hopes a live and get out of fighting for just the 8th...

Nash took a puck to the leg and subsequently was less effective

Very true. Unfortunately Nash was not doing much before he got hit in the leg, and also was for the most part a non-factor against Winnipeg and Buffalo.

We need superstar consistency out of Nash.

Every team comes in knowing if they shut down nash, the rangers can't do ****. If our depth ever wakes up, he'll start scoring more, if they don't, he's ****ed.
