Ben Bishop will cost 2nd + 3rd/4th rounder and a middling prospect too. Maybe just the picks. You won't get him for cheap though.

Missed that part. No, McGrinn isn't a scrap, but you're also not going to get Bishop with a deal revolving around him.

The thing is, they have Lehner, what do they need with Bishop?

They acquired him a year ago when he was relatively an unknown for a 2nd. Regardless of their situation they're not going to give him up for what you're offering. It would be bad asset managing.

How do we explain Bob's good year down in Columbus?? Do you think they have a better defense than us? If you do you shouldn't be watching hockey anymore. Also Mason plays behind that defense for 11 games and is putting up almost the same numbers as Bryz.

nobody can. he's been our best goalie since Hexy's 1st run & even he can't fix this team.

1. the Team D is awful & has been since game #1
2. the lack of hustle & effort is a complete joke
3. besides Simmonds & Jake, Bryz has been the best Flyer this year.
4. Bryz was playing lights out earlier this year & was able to overcome the team's poor D coverage & frequent lapses in effort & hustle.
5. Bryz is not playing at that high level currently, but I'm far more concerned with the over all Team D & lack of effort / hustle

I don't know Boucher was pretty good his rookie season.

You call out the team D also but don't call out Bryz when his effort isn't there.

Case in point the Tyler Kennedy goal from Thursday night to tie the game. He literally went into the butterfly and hoped the puck hit him. There was no effort to fight for the puck or even fight through the screen. Also it's the NHL, there will always be players in front of the net, so don't use that as an excuse why the goal went in.

Outside of Boosh's rookie season, I agree with this. Bryz is still doing what he can, even though he may not be as fresh. Tighten up, make crisp, quick passes and keep pushing, and the Flyers should play better. But that's easier said than done.

When Briere was likening this year to 2009-2010 and saying that we're going to get this back on track, I think what he was trying to say is that we need to stop starting the overpaid bum #1 goalie and roll with Boosh and Leighton.

We can still get this season back on track with some adequate goaltending.

That's the worst idea I've ever heard.

if you think boosh and leighton will be better then bryz then i honestly think you're just a bryz hater. i agree he hasn't been playing well and if continues he needs to be bought out as he's not playing anywhere near what his contract dictates however rolling with boosh and leighton is quite possibly the worst idea ever.

People said it was a bad idea in 2009-2010 too, then the comeback happened.

Chechmanek's 1.96 GAA and .922 save percentage disagrees strongly with you. And it's not like he was worse than Bryz in the postseason, they're about equals.

I'd take Checkmanek over Bryz at this point. Though ideally (in this theoretical universe where such a choice is possible), the next goalie is neither of them.

he's putting up numbers comparable to his first season here but bob has improved. watching him play that's pretty evident.

in bryz defense, if you're comparing the two, he's played 15 games compared to 24 for bryzgalov. that a huge difference in work load which in such a short time will take it's toll.

That rebound factory was much better in the regular season than our current rebound factory.

come on dude. there were plenty of other factors last year but you can't honestly tell me that there isn't a happy medium of playing time between last year and this year. right now he is literally playing every other day on average. that is ridiculous. i don't care who the backup is, they need to start.

It would improve our chances for Jones so if you look at it that way it really wouldn't be the worst.
