For Christmas the kids were in Berlin, don't know about the ex-wife.
They left together with him back to Philly.

if you can't move briere by the offseason you have to use 1 of the buyouts... the guy has become a cancer with his playing style

They visited him. He went with giroux, no one else. Like mentioned, they went to visit around Christmas time. His kids are very involved in the Philadelphia/south jersey area

Briere is not currently on the Hockeybuzz.com Ekland trade chart. About 30 NHL players are. This worries me.

I wouldn't put much stock into it. I think you'll start to hear more about it closer to the deadline.

I wonder if Ottawa would have interest, as that's the only place I could see Briere waiving his no-trade for. Would love to get Bishop+a defenseman that they have...

Maybe it happened before today's game - but I never noticed before today.

Didn't Briere have the "A"?

He doesn't now, and Hartnell has it. Am I remembering wrong?

It might be a rotating A. I think Timonen has the permanent A.

Yeah, Hartnell and Briere switch the A.

I think Hartnell is away and Briere is home

Yeah I was against that idea before, but it has grown on me. I think the guy is gonna get bought out and everyone knows it. That is why I am starting to think he is going to waive his NTC. If he knows he is getting bought out he might waive if it is to go to a team he wants to play for. I doubt he waives to go to Phoenix or some place that he doesn't want to play out his contract, but if he has interest in STL or something I can see him waiving.

Definitely. No way the Flyers let him take up 10% of their cap next year.

Who are you anyways? And you think Bryz is the only problem we have? Really? Briere hasn't had a goal in 10 games and is a -8 this season. Alone in the Pens game, he had no points, 2 shots and a -3.

A goalie playing poorly has far, far more effect on a team than a skater playing poorly.

Well, you must be blind. Briere is not giving up 3 goals on 5 shots after the team shuts the opposition down for 11 minutes. Briere is not allowing goals in the beginning of almost every game. Briere is simply in a dry spell. Bryz's weak goaltending is destroying the morale of this team. When you playing your guts out and the opposing goalie is stopping all your shots then your overpayed space cadet of a goalie gives up a softy that's demoralizing. Not because one of your forwards can't get a goal. Bryz's stats are one of the worst in the league and you want to blame a forward for it. This guys can't stop a shot in a shootout but you think he can stop a breakaway or a 2 on 1, becaue they happen to every team in every game. Nothing but excuses, We have to score 4 or more every game to have a chance of winning.
