Kind of hitting a quandary in terms of where he should slot in.

First line has been: Silfverberg-Turris-Alfredsson.

I've actually liked the way this line has been playing, production or not.

Second line has been: Greening-Zibanejad-Condra

I've really liked the way this line has been playing.

Seems kind of silly to put Michalek on the "bottom" two lines.

I'd be willing to try him in Condra's spot, although Killer has really been playing well and is the defensive responsibility on that line.

Still, with Greening playing the way he is, Z-bad's reach, and Michalek's drive, that could be one scary line for opposing defence.

If anything I'd put Michalek on with Condra and Zibanejad, leave the Turris line alone, and move Greening to Regin's wing in place of Grant. Condra's been one of the best forwards on the team ever since Karlsson's injury (and an argument could be made that he's been THE best forward on the team), and Zibanejad's been one of our best centers, but Greening's been both inconsistent at best, and a terrible possession player.

Maclean said after the Leafs game that the point of putting Greening with Condra and Zibanejad was to put a natural scorer on a line with 2 of our strongest possession players. Since Michalek's the best natural scorer on the team, it makes sense to put him on that line. At the same time, given their success in the Leafs game, I can see why Maclean might leave that line alone for another game or two.

I know this conversation has obviously already taken place, but Milan needs to be asked what side he truly wants to play. Hes one of our best forwards and should have people shifted around for him, not him playing his off wing.

I think Condra is what keeps that line intact. He is the glue if you will. He is an underrated possession player. I would possibly move Greening from that line and add Michalek before I move Condra, imo.

I don't know why they broke the Greening/Zibanejad/Condra line up. They were beasts.

Silfverberg/Turris/Alfie
Michalek/Regin/Stone
Greening/Zibanejad/Condra
JOB/Smith/Neil

is what I would like to see when Michalek and Stone are back from IR

Greening - Zibanejad - Condra shouldn't be touched. They all complement eachother very well.

Why is Michalek playing if he is not 100% and will need sugery? I hope he is not putting himself in further danger of making the injury worse. We don't need him this year I would rather he get the surgery and be ready to go in training camp next year

I feel the same way: if there's a year you can take off (and still get paid) to make sure you get healthy it's this year

However Michalek is a professional athlete: people like that are born to compete and can be miserable when they aren't. I'm going to assume that the doctors feel that the chances of things going worse are pretty low and that's why they are ok with him playing.

I'm so psyched for Spezza to be back with Michalek, and then our young 'uns can contribute without top-line pressure.

Great to have him back and he skated, really, really well...for someone who still needs surgery. A difference in the game and having him back shows the difference of what we are missing.

Is that what your stats say? Since I was stating my opinion, and you are apparently stating facts, I guess I'm wrong.

Michalek's Chorski rating leaves a lot to be desired.

Michalek's impact since coming back has been noticable. It isn't a coincidence that there is more offense since he got back.

He hasn't scored, but it has allowed players to shift back to more appropriate roles where they are much better. His skating is strong and the opposition has to respect his potential to blow by their D, which is making more room for everyone.

If there's something positive about that bunch of injuries, is that some people will finally open up their eyes about MM9's value and stop proposing trades involving him for unproven prospects.

Guy is the strongest sen on the puck, hard in the corners and behind the net, and relentless net drive and battle in him. I used to debate trading him, and maybe it's a small sample size these last two games but he is the type of player we need not the type we need to lose I hope he keeps it up the rest of the way.

Agreed. I didn't realize just how much I missed him until he came back.
