Just saw the high lights on nhl.com

If Lucic knew Sequin was there on the first goal, his vision is awesome.
Had his back turned to the center of the net. and gave seguin a nice feed.

If he just threw it out there, well then, still a good play.

Cambell had a wide open net with 1.2 sec remaining, but couldn't
get the 1 timer off.

Simmonds would be a great fit on the third line and one of the PP units

Was wondering today, if you had told Paul Holmgren he'd be trading JVR for Luke Schenn within a year of trading Carter and Richards would he still trade both of them?

I believe he figured he'd hitch the wagon to Giroux and JVR for the next 10 years, and now they have Luke Schenn doing ****.

I think Mezaros might have woken up Horton. After the crosscheck, Horton seemed more involved. Hopefully he doesn't go back to sleeping through the next game lol.

Holmgren is flat-out awful. He's at least as bad a GM as Howson was for Columbus. I mean Holmgren at least had a lot more to work with and pissed it all away. I have no idea how he still has a job after a team half made up of guys he traded away won a cup.

Holmgren is not awful. He isn't perfect or the best, but he isn't awful.

it's all subjective, but I think he lacks a key quality in a GM which is patience. Then again, it's not his fault he lost Pronger. all the dumb trades aside, if Chara had essentially retired in the last couple years, Chia wouldn't look as good either.

Just in from the game.

We think wrist. He never went all of the way back to the "room" They pulled the curtain in the tunnel but I could see David's feet/ skates.

Shawn T had a good game.

Jordan Caron looked good Maybe he is one of the answers to the B's shortcomings.

Great to see Tuukka get the shutout.

Did you see Hartnell giving Dougie a hard time ? Dougie laughed in his face..I enjoyed that.

Nice to see Kelly and Paille get goals.

It is always a good game when the B's beat the flyers

The JVR for Schenn trade obviously has not worked out for the Flyers to this point, but I understand the rationale for the trade at the time it was done.

Say what you will about the Carter and Richards trades (and I was against them at the time) but they were able to bring in some good, young players with upside on offense (Simmonds, B. Schenn, Couturier) and they handed the team over to Giroux, and he had his best season as a pro last year. Additionally, Hartnell turned himself into more of a goal scorer last year, and they have always been a talented offensive team (still are).

Unfortunately, the reason they keep getting bounced form the playoffs is that they have better names than they do players on the back end, and inconsistency in goal. With Pronger down, Holmgren may have felt that he needed to try and acquire a top pairing D-man. Those players do not grow on trees and are rarely moved, and though Schenn had not proven that's what he was, Holmgren took a gamble by giving up the talented but inconsistent JVR for a player he thought might be able to stabilize their blue line.

JVR has found his stride in Toronto and Schenn has not made an impact in Philly, but I do understand why he did what he did.

That being said, I bet he wishes he could have that trade back at this point.

Just some quick thoughts on the game...

*One of the Bruin's better efforts from start to finish, but I thought Philly quit in that game. Laviolette has to be on the hot seat if that is the effort he is going to get night in and night out. The playoffs look like a long shot for the Flyers at this point.

*Do you think the media will still be talking about Seguin's "compete level" and board work next week?

*I was glad to see Rinaldo get taught a lesson by Thornton, but that was a good, hard hit on Boychuck

*Horton finally showed up after taking 3 games off, and that whole line played with some purpose

*The third line looked a lot more solid with Caron out there, and the shift where they scored hinted at the chemistry they could develop

Try to get a job with the Islanders.

In all seriousness, I think it's cool when a coach wears a shirt and/or tie that fits with his team's colors.

That is actually the best way to handle pests. Just laugh at them and don't let them bait you into something stupid or get you off your game.

And yes, it is always good when the B's beat the Flyers.
