I think Dekyser is going to Detroit, but I would love to get Schwartz or Andrej Sustr (this kid is huge 6'8)

Better start moving out some contracts in that case.

Someone mentioned this already but contract space would need to be cleared. Both would be nice adds though.

Does Schwartz think he has a shot at the center spot though? It's pretty muddled and he might want a better situation to step into. Or even just go to play with his brother.

Dekeyser would be nice too. He'd have an easy path to a spot.

Gaudreau scored his 40th point against Vermont!

Also, Gillies had a shutout yesterday against U-Mass Lowell. Jankowski also had an assist that game. With 16 points in 29 games, Jankowski is at a .55 PPG. I'm actually quite happy with that, considering this is his first season against much harder competition.

Absolutely. Harder competition, and most 3rd - 2nd line minutes playing wing. I hope Leeman puts gives him a more prominent role next year, and we see him play consistent top 6 minutes at C! If that happened, I wouldn't be surprised to see him finish iwth a PPG come seasons end.

This makes me happy! I'm actually really excited to see Arnold transition to the pros. He would be a nice addition to the Heat.

much preferred this than Svenny getting 8 minutes a night. We need to develop this stud the right way

Reinhart and Arnold on a line together would be freaking nasty

Not a bad team necessarily, but we really need some more high-end talent.

probably because it would mean another line would be without a centre.

Not sure why that would be a problem seeing a lot of good teams put centers on the wings

Yeah, centermen that are better suited to be wingers. Not excellent 2 way players that are also good on faceoffs.

Centermen that get converted to wing more often than not either have a deficiency defensively, lack size/strength or are god awful at faceoffs.

Depends on minutes, as well. If putting a guy at his natural centre position means you're dropping a top 6 player (for example) to a bottom 6 level, then often you're not going to do it. Good example of that being LA with Carter and Richards (both of whom are excellent two-way players and good on faceoffs). Granted, good centres are enough of a rarity in the NHL that it doesn't happen often, but it's another consideration.

Sick mitts. No doubt he has skill and talent. He would be considered a long shot because of his size but time will tell.

Playing against AHL talent that would be the worst team in the league, no doubt.

Interesting piece here from the Hockey News -- after watching all the draftees play for half a season, they had a panel of scouts re-rank the 2012 draft. For everyone who said Jankowski shouldn't have been a 1st round pick, he's ranked 25th on the list (we drafted him 21st) while guys like Slater Koekkoek (taken 10th by Tampa Bay), Cody Ceci (taken 15th by Ottawa), Jordan Schmaltz (taken 25th by St. Louis), Brendan Gaunce (taken 26th by Vancouver), Brady Skjei (taken 28th by the New York Rangers) and Tanner Pearson (taken 30th by Los Angeles) didn't crack the top 50.

A small glimmer of light down what looks to be a very long tunnel.

Yeah it's kind of a good news, bad news article as Jankowski is still rated as a 1st rounder but the new rankings has Teravainen, Laughton, Hertl and Girgensons at 11, 12, 13 and 18th respectively. All were available at 14, our original draft position.

It'll come down to Janks and Seiloff vs. each one of those guys. Should work out for us but last time FLames did that Chucko, Prust and Boyd vs. Zajac hasn't worked out.

Not sure why Dansk was put in the top 25, he has been horrible so far.
