Scroll up and read CanadianPanther's post. Has the breakdown of percentages.

Long story short: win the lottery, pick 1st.

No, finish last and at worst you'll pick 2nd overall. If you drop, you can only drop down one spot.

Do you guys see any of Huberdeau in Drouin?

I think they would work amazingly together. If we don't get Mackinnon, I would definitely be happy to have Drouin.

If you read the scouting reports on him, he's a DT guy. Since DT loves guys with a combo of speed, skill and grit.

I swear in the last 2 years Ive heard every combination of player type as a "Tallon Guy". Big and skilled, Skilled and disclipined, Smart and Big, etc, etc... Hes brought in numerous players that dont fit being "Tallon Guys" - Wojtek Wolski, Kuba, Kovalev, just to name a few. Yes, Tallon loves Big, Skilled, gritty, fast guys; BUT SO DOES EVERY GM IN THE LEAGUE. This theory that he will choose this guy or that guy because he is "tallon's type of guy" is a total misnomer. "Tallon's type of Guy" is anyone he thinks can help the team win.

I dont like to overhype guys and am very quick to realize not everyone of our prospects will turn out the way we hoped, but something about this guy tells me he will be special. I think we have underestimated Drew Shore and the same will happen with Bjugstad. Will not bust, 100% guarantee.

I'm going on record now and saying this guy will be a dominant NHL centre.

Just my opinion.
This.

I sure hope he is a DT guy. If that gets him in a Panther jersey, I'm all for it.

MacKinnon would be our first choice most likely, then either Drouin or Barkov. personally, id take drouin over barkov, hes such a stud, him and huberdeau would be magical but i wonder if we go with the big center instead. If we nab one of mackinnon, drouin, or barkov, that would be insane.

as far as the lottery goes, im constantly having questions about it because whenever i think it goes one way, it gets cleared up and its different. i initially thought they changed it to more like basketball where the picks can land in whatever order they draw them (i dont know if theres a "4spot" rule or something like that in basketball) but here in the nhl draft theyre saying you can only drop back 1 spot...so does that mean you see who wins the top pick, and if its a team who wasnt the worst team then everyone just moves back one spot and theres the order? if everyone has a shot at getting that pick, even #14, then it would be nice to know that we could only slide 1 spot. is that correct?

wouldnt that be great if we got mackinnon (or even barkov). finally, we would no longer have to worry about centers. MacKinnon, Bjugstad, Shore/Goc. that would be incredible!

Out of Mac, Drouin, and Barkov, who can you see gelling the best with Huby?

Yeah, Mac and Huby are a match made in heaven. Huby is the playmaker that Mac needs and Mac is the sniper that Huby needs.

Hubs and Mac would be a match made in heaven, I wouldn't mind seeing Hubs and Barkov together either, they would put on a spectacle of "hockey IQ"

So, if the season ended today, we'd have the #1 or 2 pick regardless?

Ok, thought someone said it changed and anyone in the bottom 14 could get it and order would be selected randomly from there. Probably just misinterpreted them.

Seriously hope this is the last time we have a non-playoff pick.

We will lose the draft lottery and the team who jumps us will take MacKinnon. I guarantee it.

Yeah, so basically if a team wins the lottery, they get the #1 overall pick and everybody else just moves down a slot. Of course if the team that wins the lottery is the last place team then they pick #1 and nobody moves. That's the way I interpret it.

luckily with all the hype Jones has been getting, IF a team jump into number 1 by winning the lottery, shoving us back to 2, then thered be a high chance they take jones...but of course theyd take mackinnon, because we want him
