4. San Jose Logan Couture fits the bill

PROSPECTS
5. MINNY Charlie Coyle

Logic & most likely

San Jose Logan Couture i think makes sense because San Jose has Tomas Hertl on the way up as a very promising rookie Centre and maybe the right deal can pry him loose..

Package for Logan Couture

San Jose needs speed and forwards and has a depleted prospect pool,

2014 1st + Mac + Percy or Finn...for Logan Couture
They wouldn't give up Couture for Nash why would they take that deal?

So much

Tough to argue against logic like that.

Those would be the candidates who would all fit our needs...Not just Couture..

Charlie Coyle is the next Colin Wilson 100% perhaps 1 year away, he is the player i think we get just don't think they will deal him..

IF those guys were GM there is almost nobody untouchable on that roster.

And I mean only 2-3 guys.

Too bad Nonis has alreay been in contact with them and all he could get was a 4th for Brown.
I watched that game last night and it was brutal. They need a coaching change badly, those young players have no idea what they're supposed to be doing on the ice.

Looking at the oilers there's a deal to make. So many pieces could go either way. Grabovski Kulimen Gardiner Gagner Paarjarvi Draft picks Connolly Khabibulin Bozak Eager Jones. Mix and match we could get rid of Grabovskis contract with Kulimen may work for them to play with Yakupov

Dude you are just making crap up.

Since when is Wilson a #1C?

Since when is Coyle a #1C.

You are making wild predictions and claiming them as facts.

He is a beast and has a good offensive game and upside.

Charlie Coyle from Minny is my ideal pick he is Colin Wilson before his value surges...

Minny has numerous centres and several prospects but is weak on the wings and on D

He has the size to be the #2C and can skate extremely well for such a big guy...

whats fair?

I have said for a long time Kadri is the NUMBER 1 C

This is suggestions for a big #2 C

**** that. We need a real #1C or at the very least a proven #2a

Why would we waste assets on someone who can barely put up 0.5 PPG in the AHL. That doesn't scream top 6 forward to me.

This is exactly what people said 1 year ago about Colin Wilson

Look at the price of a Couture? people jump at me for suggesting the cost to get him?

I disagree 100% Kadri is the number one C what we need is a big # 2 centre...hence my list..

agreed. Kadri #1 Coyle #2 Bozak/Grabo #3 would be nice

although u mentioned Backstrom and Couture earlier

BUT Coyle or Oshie would be a nice big #2

That was my list of candidates for #2C

i prefer Coyle because of price will be less and he fits the mold for a tough big very good skating #2
He apparantly is a very strong skater so that fits well with us..

I do hope we can land Perry as well just think we should wait till FA and throw a giant deal at him...without losing assets to trade for him..

Love to see us land a top D RH like Polak from St louis as well...

We have assets to deal so hopefully we can land some additional picks and a C because that player is not in FA anymore

I'm starting to think if Perry won't take an identical contract to Getzlaf what will he want?

I would sign him to a 7 year deal @ $8M in a heartbeat BUT if that were the case wouldn't he take $8.25 over 8 years?

I think he wants Ovi money! with a higher cap hit! Kinda scary... Also considering he has played with a top center in the game.

My guess:

1. he gets traded to the Habs or Wings and they sign him to an $8 year deal with an AAV of $8.5M per.

2. He tests the FA market and gets a 7 year deal with an AAV of $9.5 per.

3. Re-signs with the Ducks to the Getzlaf deal.

Scenario 1 is most likely IMO and from what i have heard. Perry is a well known Habs fan and Detroit is close to home for him.

Committing to that scenario 2 would be foolish IMO even though Perry is a great player is he really worth $4m more than a guy like Neal? Not IMO!

The third option could happen too. If they make a deep run and he wants to continue winning with the team that needs him and drafted him... Never know...

Only if you're the Maple LEafs!

Somehtings gotta give. They're three lines deep and they still suck. You would think with Smyth they would have some leadership, but I guess not.

I think Gagner has earned his spot. I guess we should have grabbed him last year when he was still crap.
RNH is the guy struggling right now. I've been saying for weeks now he just doesn't seem to fit.
BUt hte price would be super high and other than Kadri We don't have the Center to return to them in a trade.

I think signing a puke like him would be a stake to my heart as a Leafs fan.

Why not bring back Avery while we are at it?

I still think something around Dion, and Ben for RNH is the way to go.

Add in Gards or Liles + picks/prospects.

Then take some salary back and I think something could be done.

Another place to be looking is STL. With Sobotka fast emerging as a solid top 6 player, is there someone of value we can pluck out of there?

Pretty sure Coyle is playing on the wing with Parise and Koivu right now, don't see why they would want to trade him.

Sometimes when ya gotta post, ya gotta post.

Better off in the wrong thread then making a mess of yourself.
