Phaneuf with his best two-way effort I have seen from him.

If he had a competent D partner and Riemer on his game, we would be winning 3-0

Just read on Twitter that Matt Finn was in a pretty brutal knee-on-knee hit in his game against Saginaw tonight. There was no report on his condition. Hopefully he's okay.

Yeah he has. If only he would make more power moves when he has the puck.

finally Holzer taken off the top pair. about time. He should do just fine on the bottom pair, that's where he belongs.

BIG BIG test for Franson here on the top pairing against the toughest matchup in hockey. A good showing here might give him a long, long look with legit top-4 minutes. Hope he can hack it.

And Phaneuf is in beast mode tonight. All over Crosby (only point sid's had was that gimme empty netter), and 3 points on the other end. Studly.

hughson just loves ripping on Reimer and his rebound control though i have to largely agree with his critique. Reimer has made some good saves but a couple he probably wants a second shot at.

and I wonder why people want Bozak signed.

Garbage effort from Reimer today but the same for the Leafs the 1st period. This needs to stop. GA is rising, I guess we will never learn.

Why don't they show Beau Bennett footage on the bench? He's leading the Pens in scoring tonight.

Agreed, just getting ourselves to OT/shootout and a chance for a win is all I'm asking for from tonight.

Also I agree with most on here, Phaneuf has been great tonight!

Getting a lot out of him for 1.5M. He's got 5G and 5A for 10 points this year while being the main reason why our PK is better this year. Plays the same role as Grabo but makes 4M less.

Just a quick scoreboard watch:

Boston won (so we don't move up on them)
Montreal is losing to Tampa (by 2)
Carolina won
Isles won.

so we need a point to keep on pace with Boston/Montreal.

A defensive coach who knows when and when not to rush helps A LOT!

Very very simple answer.

Evengi Malkin.

Apparently #Leafs prospect Matt Finn suffered a pretty brutal knee-on-knee hit against Saginaw's Justin Kea. Hope to have an update later.

MAN.. dude had mono nucleosis half the season.. gets back and starts playing well again now this?? hope it's not career ending. horrible news for a 2nd rounder we got as a steal.. should have been a mid 1st round pick. Lets hope he's going to be ok

I usually defend Reimer, but tonight he deserves the criticism, he's been terrible. I absolutely hate that 4th goal arggg so bad
