Okposo was on the outs there. Former 24g scorer is a better assets than a 27yr old carreer AHLer.

Straight up.

I'm very comfortable with Kadri and Bozak being our #2/#3 for the next 5 years.

Please though. Please. A first line centre.

Don't really see any option outside of Stastny or just letting kadri be #1C and get a guy like Wiess to be #2

Think big and don't be afraid if the trade sets the team back a year.

Problem is that stars are light years away

Just joking, you got the right idea, the ultimate goal is the cup.

That is why I suggest(and get laughed at) guys like Duchene and RNH.

I know hte cost would be huge but just look at our line up when healthy.

2 extra NHL vets and a top 4 D-man in the AHL

One of JVR or Lupul will be on the 3rd(Grabo) line.

Komarov(like he did tonight) will be on the 4th line.

One of McClement or Kulemin will be on hte 4th line.

Either 2 enforcers or an enforcer and a faceoff specialist will be scratches.

We have Zigo and Connolly in the AHL. NOt to mention a solid core of young talent.

We have the pieces to pursue a top end talent. Even if it takes 4-5 trades to get to hte goal.

Let's not hold anything back to get that #1C.

NYI wouldn't take on Komi or MacA. Eithout sending somethign like Dipietro back.

They're better off with 1st + .... I would do my damnedest to hold onto Kadri. Give Gards first.

That's ok, we can buy him out. No way on the Gardiner - as hard as it is finding a good Center, good defensemen are even harder to find.

After the last 4 years search for a center I would disagree. But forget that. the answer is even more simple.

We've already got Rielly in the system. We've got nothing else like Kadri.

Who's Okposo on the outs with? Message board fans, who can watch him have a strong game on the forecheck and going hard to the net, then still post that he stinks in the post game thread? PM me when their opinions actually matter in decision making,

Wang is moving to Brooklyn where the NY Times reports, he can make an extra $35m per season on the luxury suites alone. He needs to fill those 100 luxury suites.

Wang's not trading Tavares, when he can buyout DiPietro for $1.5m per.

Tavares would replace that. We have a dynamic established center with the pizzaz and the explosivenes, it is Grabovski. Get him off the 3rd line and he will be scoring all same goals Kadri is now.

How long since we had a top end PMD? Kaberle in 2003?

I think he wants Ovi money! with a higher cap hit! Kinda scary... Also considering he has played with a top center in the game.

My guess:

1. he gets traded to the Habs or Wings and they sign him to an $8 year deal with an AAV of $8.5M per.

2. He tests the FA market and gets a 7 year deal with an AAV of $9.5 per.

3. Re-signs with the Ducks to the Getzlaf deal.

Scenario 1 is most likely IMO and from what i have heard. Perry is a well known Habs fan and Detroit is close to home for him.

Committing to that scenario 2 would be foolish IMO even though Perry is a great player is he really worth $4m more than a guy like Neal? Not IMO!

The third option could happen too. If they make a deep run and he wants to continue winning with the team that needs him and drafted him... Never know...
If he goes full UFA and does not sign with the team that has his rites then his AVV will settle in at between 9 and 9.5m per.

They may make a trade after the season is over to allow a team the 8th year option to wiggle the cap hit. 8 yr 8.5/ 8.75 AVV

So the panel mentioned a college free agent last night(didn't get his name). I haven't seen much on this board about "free wallets" this year. When do college free agents become available this year and to the people who follow college any prospects the Leafs might/should be pursuing?

Can't wait for the howls of Kessel & Stastny paid $ 11M ++ and being invisible versus Boston and leaving Kadri to carry the load..
Whats with the obsession with size up the middle?

We need a C that can get the best out of Kessel on 5/5 play.

I'm fully convinced now that for Kessel to be a viable 1rst line player on a contender, then that line is going to just have to flat out, out gun the other line.

Kessel does not have the conditioning, nor commitment ,nor the internal fortitude to do it any other way.

3. St Louis TJ Oshie is another good idea..
4. San Jose Logan Couture fits the bill

PROSPECTS
5. MINNY Charlie Coyle

Logic & most likely

San Jose Logan Couture i think makes sense because San Jose has Tomas Hertl on the way up as a very promising rookie Centre and maybe the right deal can pry him loose..

Package for Logan Couture

San Jose needs speed and forwards and has a depleted prospect pool,

2014 1st + Mac + Percy or Finn...for Logan Couture
The only way you will see a viable #1 C moved if the team already has and abundance already proven in the league.

In other words, 3 C s that are very capable of being 1 or 2 on the team. ala, like Pitt had.

Who ever is ranked #3 on the team will want his top 2 minutes, so in time that situation corrects itself.

The only team in the league i see in that situation is Col.

You are lying to yourself if you believe for one minute that we can get our hands on the likes of Cout/Backstr/Osh, without ripping a huge hole in this team.

Weise/Reibero/Roy or maybe Stast will be the type of options open.

Thats why Coyle in Minny is an option they have multiple centre's

He is not a number 1.....But he is going to be a number 2, he is like Colin Wilson last year, yet to breakout

Why size?? We have small centre's now skilled but small, having a physical centre is a need..

I mean were you old enough to watch Mat Sundin?? Then you would not ask the question, and i am not talking about his pts...
