Sure it's funny but like I said, names like Dick don't count. If ***** Galore was a hockey player, she wouldn't count either.

Dwight King might not be that cool of a name, but given that he plays for the Kings, I think it's pretty fitting. Sort of like in baseball when BJ Ryan played for the Blue Jays.

I remember liking hockey names when I was a young Canucks' fan. I didn't even know there was a Finland, I just thought that hockey players were cool because they had crazy names like Petri Skriko and Ilka Sinasalo. That's where my vote went.

Listed several earlier, all time favourites Bart Crashley. Just says everything right there.

The two greatest will always be "Sprague Cleghorn" and "Zarley Zalapski"

By the same token, Mike Wall is a terrific name for a goalie. Shame he didn't stick.

Not NHL players, but a couple of my favorites are former Polish national team player Jerzey Christ and former minor league player Jeff Winstanley.

I can't believe it no one mention Boone Jenner. In my opinion he got the most original name in the entire league. By the way it's a favorite of mine.

Too obvious. Mike Wall the goalie. Paris Duffus far far superior. No, Bart Crashley, that name & his memory, synapse, connectivity, workin over-time for me. Im smelling cold shower dressing rooms, cheap popcorn & root beer.

I know he didn't play in the NHL but John Winstanley is and awesome name. I was pulling for him to make the NHL one day.

When coupled with his nickname I've always liked former Ranger goalie Steve Buzinski "the puck goes inski".

Mine too. Just the best hockey name ever. It isn't really silly or funny or weird, just freaking cool.

As I say every time in these discussions: in swedish its PK Subban and it's not close.

(In swedish it literally reads as "the politically correct bi*ch")

Three pages and not one mention of Merlin Malinowski or Morris Mott? For shame...
