I'm pretty sick of the picks. My preference is we move it.
If we don't... Barkov sounds interesting. So does Monahan.
Yeah, I'd trade the pick as well. Partly because I want to avoid the embarrassment of picking first overall four years in a row and partly because I feel a package of solid veterans will help us out way more than any stud prospect.
Why do I keep seeing people referring to the Oilers' situation as mediocrity? MacT hockey... that was mediocrity. This here is complete and utter ********. Historic ineptitude and failure in lieu of this era of... parity.

To be fair, the Oilers are only having the 41st worst season from a scoring efficiency standpoint since 1990. To be more fair, that is out of 612 teams. Wait... that is pretty bad.

It is truly embarrassing. What has happened is inexcusable on every level. We've all watched this team hit rock bottom again...and again....and again over the last 4 years. I'm for one tired of it.
When we drafted Hall, I was like "yea we sucked, its a cap league some team has to be the loser."
Then we drafted RNH, I was like "ummm wtf? 30th again? not even a lick of improvement? in a cap league thats pretty rare but hopefully its time to turn the corner".
Then we drafted Yakupov, We finished 29th. We have moved up 1 ****ing position in 3 years. There was no excuse for that plain and simple this is past the point of a rebuild, this is just flat out sucking.
Here we are in the 4th season, 28th place and this ship is sinking. I don't care who you are, you place bottom 3 in a cap league 4 years a row Buh-bye.
Tambellini has done his job of acquiring talent now its time for another GM to put us over the top.
Oil need to deal Khabi back to TB asap... and 28th for the Oil is in the bag.
Seriously is TB ever going to get decent goaltending? Seems like their Achilles heel forever now.
Buffalo is probably a game or two away from passing the Oil.
Then it's just the Panthers. Just like the BJ's in the last draft though... they will also fall to the Exxon Valdez Supertanking Oilers. Prepare to be decimated... Captain Tambo is clueless and in charge and gunning it full steam backwards onto the Florida beaches.
Poor ******** never had a chance.

We've also scored the fewest goals in the whole league. Who saw that one coming.
as much as this year blows... some of these kids need to learn that fancy finesse hockey as your primary skill isnt going to win in the NHL. theyre definitely learning the hard way and are stubborn as hell at changing out of that mode.
yes, the finesse augments offense, but when you cant think outside of that and take a finesse game as it comes from hard work - you're setting yourself up for a rough career.
to be mildly fair, the top line had chances they were snake bit on or just pooped the bed on finishing early on. now its just a complete sunken ship.
hopefully draft Seth Jones and get some real vets in here who can play hard and think the game more balanced.
Poll is too "easy"... of course Jones is going to be the obvious #1. Too bad there wasn't the ability to rank and choose 1-5.
I'm curious to see who the consensus would be at #2
Really doubt there will be a consensus on #2. Is this the easiest #1 pick since Kane?
Surprised at people who would trade the #1 pick. Show me the trade that would benefit the team more than getting a young Pronger in Seth Jones and I'll change my stance.
