I'd very much like to know about these times, sd. When Getzlaf and Perry proved they were NHL players, they stayed in the NHL. When Bobby Ryan showed it, he stayed too(save for the above mentioned cap thing, which isn't the coach's responsibility). Why in the world would Ryan have been in the NHL at 18?

To the Oilers fan, would you trade a top 5 pick for Morgan Rielly? Just wondering who you would value more between then two. Monahan for Rielly would be fair value, fill a huge need for us, and then we could keep Gardiner. lol

No, but it is easy to call him an amazing player when you watched him play in the NHL last season averaging more than 20 minutes a game. Heck he was playing more minutes than Phaneuf for stretches of games last year.

He's coming off a concussion, is the only guy on the team that is waiver exempt (which expires after 3 more NHL games) and the team is doing well. Simple as that.

Anyways no point in this thread. As a mod I would have assumed you would have realized that and closed it. It's just been people talking about how good/bad Gardiner is with no actual talk of value.

Nobody that a team would be willing to part with. Gardiner for O'Reilly? Sure, that made sense.. Now that that has ended, we can watch him as a Leaf for years to come.

If Philly wanted him, the trade would be built around B. Schenn or Couturier for Gardiner, and then Flyers fans wouldn't do it.
Couturier + 2nd for Gardinier + Kulemin?

Flyers have to get some type of good defensive forward back if we're dealing Couturier, otherwise this team becomes even more of a joke defensively than we are currently.

No... Coutouriers good but not what we need... We need a playmaker for Kessel not a defensive player, Bozaks a rock defensively. Gardiner is a smooth skater with blazing speed, a good puck handler, tons of poise, hes big and hes got a pretty hard accurate shot. We will pass..

As for Rielly, i think hes slightly better then Gardiner ceiling wise because his skating is a bit more explosive and i think he thinks the game better like how to turn defense into offense as he will try and intercept passes and take off onto the rush.
