I say we throw in Staal, Crosby, and the Sedin Twins and make it a SUPER GIGANTIC SIX-WAY deal.

The best part is that this isn't even a 3-way deal per say. It's just two trades.

How about, you don't suggest a trade proposal when it's totally ridiculous?

but wouldn't NJ want to dump salary, what is the point in getting back almost as much?
not to mention it is a totally idiotic idea to begin with

don't you think that it is a bit exagerated ? never ever trade Plekanec ? ok , he 's a promising player and has talent , but nothing to be unique . If a better player is available , why keep him ?

(1) NJ doesn't want to take on the same return in salary, they would still be in the situation they are in now...cap trouble with players like Gionta, Martin and Hulse left to sign.

(2) Salary between Gomez and Vinnie is only a little of $2 million in difference so the Lightning aren't really making a big difference, plus Vinnie is more valuable than Gomez. Gomez is good, but Vinnie brings more intangiables to the table and is way more valuable to the Lightning as a leader and I think Gomez doesn't compair in that at all.

This would never happen.

Why do I want to keep him? Wow seems like such a silly question. Possible second line center with as much defensive upside as any prospect in the league. Um yeah that would do for me!

what does everyone see in Perezogin and plekanec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they did nothing last year, young or not. if we could trade either of them for a proven second line player or a solid, good 3rd liner, do it!!!!!!!!
We have a ton of these so called young, future superstars everyone brags about and maybe 2 of all of them will develop into everyday, second line players, get rid of some of these young guys in a trade or we'll lose them through waivers, they can't all be protected!!!

poor guy , Perezhogin is highly talented, extremely fast, nice shot, his 2 problems last year were balance around the boards(falls easily) and finishing his million chances he got every game, mostly when he was playing with Saks and Kovy)

Pleckanek on the other hand was playing last year like a 10 year vet, very good defensively, sound offensively, was put at the end of the year againts best teams lines( as in playoffs), still has potential for alot more

There certainly is. Habitué can't count. Ribeiro $1.9M + Ryder $2.2M = $4.1M, which doesn't do much to relieve Lamoriello's cap headache.
