Would a 5th round pick be an upgrade?

Hard to believe how much he's improved. He was a Leafs cast-off I believe. Picked him off on waivers.

Volchenkov ?

I'm not very hopeful in that department. We'd just have to sacrifice too much with other targets.

Why would you want him if a 5th is better. We already have mister 5th

I wouldn't give much for Volchenkov with that contract. 4.25 mil cap hit and signed for 3 more years. Plus his physical game has dropped off considerably.

If the Habs are looking at adding some muscles on the back end, it seems to me like Douglas Murray in San Jose would be a target at a reasonable price, as his ice time has dropped fairly drastically this year.

Although I have a feeling that with the Bulldogs out early, Jarred Tinordi and/or Greg Pateryn might be cheaper solutions.

if Oilers are still struggling by mid-march, and they don't feel confident about retaining Smid, I'm sure he'll be on the block.

would love to have him here, perfect fit for what we need.

How about Darnell Nurse,Nikita Zadorov or Rasmus Ristolainen any of these defencemen will look great in the bleu, blanc et rouge.

I was goign to say, if you want a big dman you should just play Pateryn or Tities. Instead of wasting assets on Doug... He's too slow.

Yeah he would. But Smid will get a huge return.

Yeah in the D department I'm not too sure who would be better while not being too expensive. Murray would probably do, but I think the price will be inflated by demand.

What do you guys think about a deal for Ryan O'Byrne and Cody McLeod? What would it take?

O'Byrne is playing flat out awful this year after playing very good last season and McLeod AKA ''the Highlander'' isn't on the trade block, he's probably the most popular guy in the Avs locker room, Avs love him and he loves them as well, I have a tough time seeing him move.

Can Boll actually play? I'm not really familiar with him.

Is there any chance we're looking at Brassard as a project? The guy clearly has talent, and he's clearly big. Can he win faceoffs?

I still think Dom Moore would be a great signing.
