I agree. We just got rid of Cole at 4.5 M / year... I'm pretty sure that move wasn't made so we could acquire a guy like Umberger at 4.2 M / year until 2017.

No, it really is how many points.

You'll need between 52 and 54 to make playoffs, once that is unrealistic, that's when you sell.

It's getting there for most team standing at 22 with about 24 games left. They'd need roughly 30 points out of about 48 which means 62.5% of available points, which would be slightly better than what Los Angeles or Vancouver did so far but less than the Habs or Pittsburg. It's getting there but it's not quite there.

These team are at a threshold. In two weeks most will be too far to have any realistic hope of reaching POs but it's likely at least one or two will have a solid end of march and stay in the hunt.

That being said, will the be willing to sell anything we actually want or need...

I love how people want Parros. Good heavyweight but come playoff time he'd be throwing paper airplanes in the press box. Think he will get icetime in the playoffs? think again. Waste of a trade.

I would love to steal Cam Atkinson from Columbus, but he's going nowhere.

He could also teach proper facial hair grooming tips to the team between games.

But yeah unless we got him for very little, it would be a complete waste of time.

I want to (enter line) your wife (if she's hot, cooks, cleans, doesn't talk too much) NOW because that would make me a pimp... not a year from now not 5 years from now when I'm too old to get it up.

Question is, does your wife exist and would you be willing to part ways with her?

Oh and I'm also not willing to trade in a hot babe for her but perhaps I may be willing to give up some of my Apple stock that one day may be worth something really good, maybe not.

I really love the guy, but there's no way they let him go.

And there's no place for him here anyway with Desharnais, Gallagher and Gionta. 3 player at 5.07-5.08 is already kind of "too much" in a top-9.

Clowe is the guy we need. Gives us size, toughness and has a good history of putting up points. He's a UFA and struggling this year so he may be available. Clowe is the guy who helps in those playoff wars.

What does everyone think of a possible Marty St.Louis deal? It would cost a lot and we'd be getting a 37 year old, but one hell of a 37 year old.

It isn't a waste you have to get to the playoffs healthy, prust already has a bad shoulder you want him fighting all year long? Cause that's what's gonna happen. Randy carlie said when he won the cup with the ducks we fought for 82 games and by the time the playoffs came around we didn'tn have to fight we built up a repuatation through the 82 games that we could just play stick to playing hockey

Regarding the Chris Stewart option, it seems the Blues need centers according to their fans. Actualy they don't have a third line center. But Stewart is their leading scorer right now.

Are there any actual trade rumours out there? Seems all we have here are proposals.

We've been scouting the Jackets, Pierre Lebrun said we are looking to get grittier in the top-9.

I love St-Lois but this team does not need to get smaller. Adding him would just exacerbate the teams issue of being on the smaller end of the scale. IMO we need someone to back up Prust in the rough stuff department. Guys like that really open up space for our speedy forwards.

Thanks. Didn't we also have scouts at other games in the west?

There was an article about Bergevin having scouts at San Jose and another debating whether he should go "Shark Fishing" for Clowe and Murray. Here's the second one, seems like pure speculation though:

The only real rumours I have heard are Clowe and Murray, via Pierre LeBrun, and then scouts at the Jackets games.

Clowe is EXACTLY what we need. Weber and a 3rd? Lord knows SJ would like to dump some salary.

Chris Stewart would be a great add as well, but no way St. Louis deals him.
