I just won this game 7 to 2 against the Sabres in NHL13... so, maybe that is a good sign (of course, I had Jagr still on the Flyers)

Agreed, he has to get his stick down and cover that enormous five hole.

And look at the games played.

Other teams still have upwards of 4 games in hand

With the numbers of games we've played compared to the rest, we'd have to get a serious winning streak. Not impossible but very unlikely.

Yes, unfortunately, that is kinda what I am thinking too. We'd REALLY have to turn it around to pull this out now...

every team has games in hand and the teams current winning percentage is .423

they've shown no ability to play above that, in fact they've gotten worse as of late. what exactly is there to be upbeat about?

We'd have to go like 15-7 until the end. Not impossible, but if they want to do it, they better start now. Like some people say : you need critical situations to make epic comebacks.

i'll be watching the walking dead at 9 so i'm not too worried about it
I'll be watching the Bible mini-series on History. I'll pretend that Leighton is the Red Sea and all the Israelites are pucks.

who said "so many"? most teams are within one or two. if you're gonna make the playoffs you have to be above 500. if that's the case the odds are that most of those teams will be getting points out of those one or two games so the fact that the team is 4 points back could easily change to 6-8 points back of a playoffs spot when those games are made up. and again the team has shown gotten worse when it needs to get better to make a playoffs push.

looking ahead at our schedule too. flyers play the devils twice, rangers, pens, bruins once each. you can't tell me that inspires confidence.

well bryz is actually starting but i'll still be watching the walking dead at 9. i'm obsessed with that show for some reason.

Which Kate Upton? It's not that uncommon a name.

weve already played the easy part of our schedule. We still have a ton of games against teams we are inferior than.

I don't see it either. This is a good team and if they put it together can go on a streak and get into the playoffs. With all this tanking talk it sounds like half the people should be a Penguin fan. The Flyers aren't the type of team that tanks it. If they get rid of anyone it will be the coach and maybe Briere. But, that doesn't mean they still can't win.

i think most of the tanking talk is a joke, at least i hope it is. i'm just not very optimistic that's all and with the why the flyers are playing/their current situation i don't really see how anyone could question my pessimism.

That's what I said, it is unlikely, but not impossible.

So why recall MFL at all? Why not just stick with Boucher as the backup?

Same for me, I will never root for the Flyers to lose/tank, the tanking talk is mostly hypothetical, ironic, just to have something to be happy of right now in our position.
