The more they eat the more they will want in return. What are you giving up for him?

The Rangers were fortunate they were able to dump the Dubinsky contract on Columbus.

I imagine his stock is dropping. It's hard to judge players' worth without their full contact. Hell, I was never really sure what Dubi was worth in a trade anyway.

Makes it awfully hard to answer your question then.

While he doesn't have a NTC, I'd be curious as to see whether Dubinsky would warrant a trade back to New York. I'm curious as to how he feels about how he was treated (not that he didn't deserve to be traded).

If there are really any truths to the Rangers CBJ rumors..

Artie > Dubi

Still think it's likely Prospal as the rental for a pick

He was treated fine. I imagine he would run back to NYC in heartbeat given the chance.

Better team, better city, better travel

By treated, I mean all the speculation always surrounding him around the trade deadline EVERY year. Like I said, I'm not defending him, those rumors were brought about by his play and salary, but it must've made him feel like he wasn't wanted, no?

It's easy to think he'd want to run back here, but deep down, he must have some malice towards the organization, or at least I think so.

He kind of has himself to blame for that.

Like I said, I agree with that, but not every player has the ability to recognize that. He loved it here, the team, the fans, the city. And he got shipped to Columbus. Yes, Columbus. I think it's silly to think he isn't pissed at the organization for ridding him.

I don't know about all that - he's got to be smart enough to realize what kind of player he was traded for. The Rangers have to make that trade every time. I like Dubi and what he brings to the table. Averaging 40+ points per year, hitting ability, skating ability, dropping the mitts once in a while. There would still be a place for him on this team IMHO

I agree. If we get him back on the cheap, I say do it really.

With a 4.2M cap hit for two seasons after this one, there's no such thing as getting him cheap.

I like Dubi. He was a good teammate and a good player.

His contract sucks.

Wow... Are some of us really suggesting we bring Dubinsky back ?

That's definitely not happening. Not at his salary and not after his last year here. We were lucky to get rid of his $4.2M in the Nash trade.

Besides, unless they get a better offensive player back in the trade, I don't think Columbus would trade him. He fits their hard-nosed style.

Id love him back, I think he fits very well here in the new York with the Rangers, but at that salary of 4.2/season, most likely not happening unless they take some of the cap hit.

Would you bring him back if either his salary was lower or if he becomes a UFA?

I don't see the need unless he starts putting up more goals. We have plenty of bottom-6 players that can score 0 goals outside of an eclipse happening.

I'm not so sure Columbus is going to be selling. 3 points out of a playoff spot and on a roll (well, everybody in the West is pretty much still in it, but anyway).

Yeah, and somehow the CBJ's are doing this with quite a few injuries (AA, Dubi, Wizz, etc...) I don't see them looking to move Dubi at all.

I liked his character and attitude. He was willing to do whatever it took for the Rangers to succeed. I would like to get dubi and move boyle. However, that is if salary was not a problem, I think it is.

Vinny was a fun player to have around. Scored some big goals. But...going into a playoff run in the East I wouldn't want to see a 38 yr old in the Rangers top 6.
