Best job I had as a student was room service waiter in a hotel. They are hard to come by and usually you need to start as a busboy first, but man.. is it ever fun!

A great part time job is working at the Casino in Montreal, I started working for them in 1993 as a(croupier) student while attending university at Concordia. I then graduated and when on to become chef d'equipe at the table games. I quit in 2002 to become pro poker player though
It pays really well.(the casino)

I don't wanna sound like a jerk but a little late don't ya think?

That being said, factory jobs are the only thing that you'll probably be able to find at this moment for a decent salary. I just quit mine cause I just got a job at Best buy.

Well no actually, it's about as good as it gets... except for beginning of summer... kids are droping their summer jobs for school and there are plenty of jobs available... I heard that they were asking for a lot of bilingual people in hotels and restaurants in downtowns (Montreal and Quebec), or there is always working in a store, being paid by the sales... or hardware store, or grocerie store, or movir theater, or video club...

Hi. I'd be interested in applying for a job at your restaurant in TMR. I worked at a restaurant in old Montréal in the past.

Very interested, this is the perfect situation for me as I just finished wrapping up the Montreal Dragon Boat Festival (Volunteer and Racer) and they can vouch for my being responsible. Also I'm going in my second year of law school and maintained a B average in my first year. I'm a big Habs fan too so.

Try working for either Natrel or Good Humor Breyers, they pay around 14-15$ an hour.

I have to mention that good humor breyers is on Ferrier street, near the Hyppodrome of Montreal, but it's mostly during summer (ice cream) and they probably have all their staff (evening or night shift) and you work at -30 celcius.

While there's a couple of Natrel (milk) distribution center (like Ville St-Laurent) it's mainly physical work and the worse case scenario, you could work at 4 celcius! No brain required!

Basically, if you have people skill, aim for restauration (bar, resto, casino, etc...) or if you have more physical skill, aim for the job where there is a "syndicat" in a big corporation, usually they pay very good money. Small business with "syndicat" are worthless for student!

im paid 9.29$ an hour (not that much i know) for Revenu québec. The job isnt much fun but you learn a lot about taxes and how finances work.
It also looks very good on a resume ;p

the only thing is you NEED to be in an administration program to get the job

anyways ive been there for 3 years now and its great ;p
