Streit: knee injury

During last playoffs, Mark Streit didn't play much and he contracted a knee tendinitis while riding the bike in the gym. Apparently it still hurts, he can't even jog still and he's not sure he'll be ready for training camp.

So first Latendresse, then Streit, the season has not started yet and we already have an injured list.....

So a tendinitis while biking, and Gainey signed him anyway knowing that he was injured but disregarding the long-term effect of that injury??? And then he should not have went at the Worlds but did it anyway, now cannot do his jogging, and without knowing if he'll be at the training camp, 'cause it's really a problem, he will practice with his former team???

Well not to that extent.... But it could clarify a lot of decisions we've been discussing for the past 3 months now.....But I just hope it's not a sign of what's to come in the season, you do remember the season when we got 1 guy injured per game.....

As much as this isn't good news, this is mitigated by the fact that we've got Coté waiting in the wings. Give the kid a little more ice time and see how he adapts.

Neither player should have been on our starting lineup, no worries.

I'm sure if needed Mr. Gainey can go out and nab an extra #7 d-man. No worries, especially in July.

I'm sure Gainey knows Todd Simpson's phone number.

But just receiving two news like that in one day made me think of those past years with the tons of injuries that were coming our way..... But sure, as far as I'm concerned, Latendresse was going back in the Juniors while Streit would have the smallest role on our club, so the importance of those players in our next year's team is not what I'm concerned here...

Better injured now than during the season. If Lats or Streit has to miss training camp then we should start getting concerned.

This is a bad news day as I posted in the Lats thread.
I will have to agree with whitesnake in that I beleive Streit wil be mush imporved this year. He should have more confidence and now has had a full year practicing and playing on NHL size ice.

I'd rather have Todd Simpson back in the lineup than Coté. At least Simpson brings toughness.

I liked what Côté brought when he played with Komi. He's sound defensively, will obviously use the boards a lot but do believe in this guy. If not only you have Coté who will do a great job but Komi who will raise his game as well, you can't lose.

He's an extra. I really like streit's passion for the game, but as long as he's healthy when someone else sucks or gets hurt, I'll be happy..
