It's bad enough, it's best watched with an MST3K mentality -- mock them for the terribleness that they have become.

+Flynn with the goal
+Though Porter was good
+Weber standing up for his team, even when out matched

-Officiating was terrible
-Schenn and Simmonds with dirty, and largely unanswered hits
-Weber fighting, painful to watch
-Not a fan of Ott's game tonight

I do find myself laughing at their gaffes these days. Being upset doesn't do anything for me anymore, so I just giggle and move on.

Ugly: These comments from the refs.

Mike Harrington ‏@BNHarrington

An incredulous Pominville on what stripes said on Ennis hit: "It was a push. It wasn't a hit. That's what the guy next to the hit told me."

1 min Mike Harrington Mike Harrington ‏@BNHarrington

RR on the Ennis hit: "That was a hard one. The explanation was that he got rubbed out."

Simmonds drove...and I mean literally drove his head into the boards.

I need to see it again but I believe his hands were above the numbers on his name plate.

When the most impressive players on a team with a $65.2 million (cap) payroll are Kevin Porter and Brian Flynn, there's something very, very wrong.

Hecht? Naaaah
Gerbe & Ott's passion. (too bad they don't have more skill to convert it into something)
Columbus 5-game winning streak

B:
Sabre midgets getting hammered left and right
Whining about NBC guys stroking Flyers players. (they stroked plenty of Sabres too, but since most of the stroking was after a player showed some skill or did some good things, odds are it wasn't gonna be even given the two rosters. C'mon)

Florida (can't they suck just a little less for a couple games?)

This roster is just not good. It's like a Lexus lemon. Maybe a Saturn lemon. Some good parts, but they just don't play well together---and THAT is on the GM, period. The fact that Darcy is still GM speaks volumes about this franchise's mentality.

I think Rob Ray is way ahead of us on this. The disconnect between what he says and what we see on the ice is MST3000ish.

Actually, they're really just one bounce away from being tied with them for last in the league.

100% a penalty, but Ennis has to stop putting himself into a vulernable position. He turned his back to Simmonds a split second before the hit was thrown. You can't do that if you want to have a long career. Players ARE going to take advantage and there will be limited sympathy from the refs (if you're not named Richards).

How could he think it's a heroic effort in jest? He either meant it (of course not) or was joking (obviously) which indicates he didn't mean it.

You cannot turn at the last second and expect to get that call. Many players seem to do that to get the incoming player to stop---or to draw the penalty, Problem is, they can be seriously hurt for their troubles. Richards, btw, had his back to Kaleta the whole time, he didn't turn at the last second.

No, but he was positioned in a way that showed no consideration for his own well being.

And Simmonds' hit absolutely should have been a minor for boarding. You can't hit in the numbers no matter what the circumstance. It's a minor and not a major because of how late Ennis turned.
