Of course he was joking. But it's a comment that doesn't need to be made. I'd expect that from some of this group, not the "media".

Tuned in at the 9:00 mark of the 3rd and saw absolutely nothing to be impressed about. (Heard later that Flynn scored.. good for him!)

It was difficult to watch the enraged Gerble attack aimlessly (like a savage rabbit)after being boarded. Gotta give the kid credit. Too bad no one else on the squad seemed to care.

Stafford misses on a tip in at the end. He's worse than useless. Hecht and Ott on the ice for extra attacker? VHP looking totally lost and ineffective in the 3rd. PP was a complete joke.

Pathetic effort from team barfalo....I mean Buffalo......

It's a common play to turn like that after entering the zone. He wasn't looking for a call, he was looking to make a play. The hit was illegal.

That's true I guess. I do get a kick out of how bitterly sarcastic he gets on the radio though.

Darcy should trade for John "Mitchell"

I've been calling Kaleta "Slab Bulkhead" and Scott "Punch Rockgroin" after watching Space Mutiny:

Flynn, Porter, Foligno, Hecht again looking solid. Watching hecht stop and look for the rebound because he assumed the shot hadn't gone in was pretty funny
Closer to 1st!

B
Pretty much everyone else
Miller especially
Poms' "defense" on the Giroux goal (aka stand still and wave your stick at a guy skating full speed) Just step in front of him! Or even making him slow down to deke or turn makes him less dangerous and more likely to lose the puck

U
Thinking this team could maybe make a decent run at the playoffs before the season started

I'm with you on this one. That place is made all the time and based on where Simmonds was, I don't think Ennis should have expected to get boarded like that. While Ennis did turn, Simmons made no attempt to let up on the play.

edit: Watched it a few more times. Simmons turns his skates at the same time Ennis turns, but he doesn't start driving his body until AFTER Ennis turns, nor does he let up. It was a dirty hit, no question in my mind.

To the post above me forgot to quote it but Just curious did you watch the replay in slow motion...it's extremely easy to see little things slowed down because at full speed it all just happened so fast

Marcus played a couple bodies tonight finally.

This was bad. Can't muster up much else to say. Tossed around.

I wasn't sure what that was either. Once I looked it up, I remember seeing a minute here, a minute there a few years back. Simply put ... Didn't like it.

That's just ridiculous.

Forgoing what may be an important piece in building a CUP team, just for a one-and-done cheap playoff thrill?

By any chance are you under 25 years old?

Gotcha yeah it was a weird play i mean even if it was the same play against the flyers I would say both players are both somewhat at fault

as soon as they had that 3 game winning streak, and they started saying "I think we can beat any team in the league in a shootout, we always like our chances in the shootout" and things like "we are playing good but we still have some things that we want to improve"....YOU SAY SAY IF YOU ARE IN FIRST IN YOUR DIVISION, not after you won 3 games in a row (and needing to go to OT to win). The just when fans are about ready to crack a smile, you proceed to immediately lose four games in a row (which is the longest losing streak currently happening in the NHL, AND TWO OF THOSE 4 GAMES YOU LOST IN THE SHOOTOUT) It is seriously a disgrace.

Now I am not normally a fan of the team tanking (because i doubt even if they had the first pick, they would either pick wrong, or screw the guy up when he got here) so unless you have something good in place for a young star to come in to, it's a waste of talent.

I think Rolston can barely motivate himself, let alone a hockey team. And if you look so horribly bored at the time in your life when you are getting a chance to live your dream, and you talk and act like that, that lack of passion is going to bleed through to your players (half of which played for you in Rochester, so much for getting a new guy in to give these players a real change). He didn't change up the lines at all, or the shoot out shooters....what has he done differently?

Did you guys know that the sabres are the only team in the league that is not over .500 winning percentage when leading after 2 periods (I know this game was not the case, but i found this interesting). WHEN THEY HAVE A LEAD WITH 20 MINUTES LEFT, they are the ONLY team that blows that lead and loses the game AS MUCH as the win the game. Meaning that they have to get a LEAD before the end of the second period to have a coin flips chance of winning. Every other team (as they all should) wins more than they lose when they are winning after 2.

They also win more games when they are out shot this year then when they are outshooting the opponent.

G - nothing right now, maybe Flynn is a tiny bright spot

B - how many players are having what we are calling "off years", and why are we expecting any different?

ugly- Stafford averages 2 shots per game and scores on just 3 percent of his shots, he has the same amount of goals as flynn and has played 21 more games. His shot percentage in the last three years was 17,%, then 9%, now 3% and his plus minus was +13, then +5, now -7. His goal were 31, and then 20, and this year he is on pace for 4! He has 2 goals this year.

NOW WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS GUY HAS TO DO FOR ANY SABRES HEAD COACH TO MAKE HIM A HEALTHY SCRATCH.

I think you are reading too much into what I said. There is nothing wrong with my being sick of losing and wanting the team in the playoffs.
