Still my all-time favourite Habs prospect, though. (In good company with Shayne Corson and a late-charging Kyle Chipchura). Good company for GL!

No one likes to see anyone get concussioins they are awful as for Giu 2 in one year is not a good sign.

2 concussions in about 4 monts... YIKES ! I hope it's not the same one that's lingering on. Repetitive concussions in short time periods are really bad. Let's hope the Habs front office gets involved and sends him to their medical staff quick; he needs an NHLer treatment. it's not the kind of injuries you want to mess with.

NO, not 4 months! Latendresse's team played in the playoffs in the spring of 2005, not 2006 [since his team failed to qualify in 2006]. So, we're probably looking at around 16 months between the two concussions. What will be interesting to see is if he'll be ready to play (ie. sympton free) for his junior team when late August/early September comes around. I still have some concern, but I hope he considers changing his helmet to a different manufacturer.

Thats a lot better news than 2 in 4 months, that scared me big time. This still scares me, but not as much.

Anyone else thinking GL is the reincarnation of Eric Daze?

I just hope it doesn't affect his drive on the ice. 2 concussions is not a huge deal yet but when it goes up 1 or 2, then he's getting into that dangerous zone.

I think Lafontaine had 7-8 concussions before he called it quits. Lindros is at 5-6?

Latendresse's team made the playoffs this year. Latendresse had a concussion during the 2006 QMJHL playoffs.

That would be if it were true. But the voltigeurs did make the playoffs in 2006 and were eliminated in 7 games in the 1st round, which ended on april the 4th. Lats missed the final 2 games after sustaining a concussion on a fluke play, probably about 5-7 days earlier. So by my calculations, that's 2 concussions in 3 and a half months So you can return to your state of being scared big time

yes it was against Gatineau and he wanted to play game 7 but his father told him that it would be better for him not to play...so it's 2 in 4 months....

It's only 1 concussion for now until they say otherwise, it's only concussion-like symptoms. He could very well have gotten his 2nd or perhaps he never fully recovered from the 1st one. Either way he's got 6 weeks before the rookie tournament and 7 weeks before training camp starts, hopefully he is 100% well before then, if not that's the way it goes, take it easy and don't come back until the doctors say you are 100% ready.

Riley needs to buy a couple of vowels for his last name.

RDS just changed its article from "concussion like-symptoms" to "has sustained his 2nd concussion". Lats is quoted saying that his jaw collided with Downie's shoulder. He's disappointed but says he's had some good practices during the time he was there, nothing he can do now, yadi-yadi-yadda... He's now coming back to montreal to see a doctor and get proper directions, hoping that everything will be all right.

This stinks. We have very solid prospect depth but we don't have a lot of big forwards in the system.

It's minor stuff. He's okay. It's precautionary. Why go crazy for a summer camp anyways... Gui's got his place on the team.
