Saw Hudon play tonight.

Everytime he hit the ice the puck was somehow ending in the Phoenix's zone. Beside one terrible turnover that gave Sherbrooke a 2v1, he was flawless. His goal came from a point shot on PP (he plays on the point on the left side and sets up Gagnon).

Pretty good performance overall from him.

Looking over his stats I noticed Hudon has done something odd. His 3 years of QMJHL...his stats have stayed relatively the same. Usually they increase as player gains experience and age

Not Really, Chicoutimi have 3 more games yet to play and Hudon can easily get at least 2 points giving him 70 points for the year which will be a career high in points as well as goals in fewer games. There IS some improvement, which is good. The reason he fell to the fifth round was that as well, he was criticized for not improving in his second season but he did. I see Hudon as a project and he will gradually get to where we want him to.

2010-2011: 0.95 ppg
2011-2012: 1.1 ppg
2012-2013: 1.3 ppg

Each year he's also had career highs in goals especially this year considering that he has 30 goals in only 30 games.

Its not as huge a difference as some players year over year, but its still decent considering the team he plays on. He's the leading scorer even though he's played 12 less games then most.

Didn't get to see any NCAA games, a rare weekend with no games on tv. Sucks cause North Dakota needs a win and a SCSU loss tonight in order to finish tied for 1st in the WCHA.

Michigan gets a big win in the 1st round of the playoffs, they have home ice so just need to win one more game to advance. If they don't advance their season is over and then the questions about Bennett's future will start since he can opt out and become a UFA in July. If he's going to do so, he must inform the Habs before June 1st or the loophole will be closed. Going to be very interesting as he's one of our top D prospects imo.

Not looking good for Dustin Walsh as Dartmouth has not been playing as well as they did to start the season so they picked the wrong time to struggle. Now they have to win both games against Havard or their season is toast and Walsh's NCAA career will be at an end. Will be interesting to see if the Habs are interested in signing him or not.

For Kristo, MacMillan, Didier, and Sullivan they open their playoffs next weekend. All their teams are so far in good shape to make the Frozen Four tournament (along with Cichy's team).

I would have no problem signing Schmidt and send him in the ECHL. As he probably going to end anyway next year. As far as the other goalies in the NCAA, I,ll leave it up to you...haven't concentrated that much in the NCAA this year.
That's something I have been thinking about. Trading from strength, which would be our D prospects for some forward help if the price is right.

Did a little write up on all the D prospects in terms of trading assets,

I like him but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't go back to the NCAA for his Senior year as his numbers are done from the big year he had last season. Someone i'd keep an eye on if im the Habs since we need more goalie prospects.

Good to hear, I know he's had some trouble of late, going into the game with points in 5 of the previous 13 games which is odd for him since before that only 1 time did he go more then a game without a point when he went 0 out of 3 against the Drakkar. Other then that he had been the model of consistency with points in 33 of 37 games. So glad to hear he's playing well, going to be a lot of fun to see what he can do next year and beyond.

Final league stats for our Swedish prospects:

SEL:
Magnus Nygren, Färjestad 51-13-19-32 (This is really, really good)
Sebastian Collberg, Frölunda 35-6-3-9

SEL2:
Erik Nyström, Karlskrona 23-5-6-11
Sebastian Collberg, Örebro 15-6-2-8

Nystrom's numbers are good considering the context, Collberg has been explained elsewhere, and Nygren (or "Nygrin" or "why didn't we pick someone from the Q instead") had a fantastic year.

Both Collberg and Nygren are going to the Elitserien playoffs. Nygren's Färjestad are favourites in the QFs, Frölunda could go either way.

Nystrom's season is over unless he goes back to the MODO U-20 team, I don't know how that works though.

Actually, they start a 10 games "series" with 5 other teams to stay in the Allsvenskan on Tuesday.

Don't know why it did that

Probably because the pun was just too horrible

Also Bozon hasn't scored in the 1st period yet. Clearly bust.

NCAA: Kristo, Bennett and Walsh each with a goal.

Hudon had an assist.

I hope Walsh can finish strong and get a contract.

I once compared him to a better skater but a less tougher Craig Rivet. Yet....will his offensive numbers of any indication that he'll be more than that? Still remains to be seen...but those goals are pretty impressive.

As prospects...I thought that both him and Morgan Ellis would have been on the same path. We'll see how that evolves but again, if those numbers are any indication....maybe we've underestimated Dietz offensive abilities. So at this point...I'm not too sure. But we've got a great one in our hands.

Magnus Nygren got "Borje Salming award" as the best defenseman in SEL!

"Magnus is a modern defenseman with great skill and he has a feared shot from the blueline." - Borje Salming

Correct me if I´m I´m wrong, but I think the Salming award goes to the best swedish defenseman outside the NHL. Anyway, Nygren has had a terrific season, and is definately a good choice for the award.
