For anyone that may care, Drew MacIntyre is 4-1-1 with a 1.46 GAA and .943 SV% with Toronto. I strongly felt that Rolston mishandled him last year. Not surprised to see him doing very well.

Tonights home game vs Abbotsford Heat will be televised - LIVE - on TWCSC Rochester - Channel 98 - their backup channel. The main channel - Channel 26 (1026 in HD) will be televising the AI-RIT college hockey game at the same time. No word if their backup channel in the Buffalo area - Channel 87 - will be televising the Heat-Amerks game. Like their Rochester brothers, the main channel in the Buffalo area - Channel 25/Channel 52 - will be televising the AI-RIT college hockey game.

Saturdays game at Binghamton will also be televised - LIVE - on TWCSC Rochester - Channel 98. The main channel will once again be televising a AI-RIT college hockey game at the same time. No word if their backup channel in the Buffalo area - Channel 87 - will be televising the Amerks-Senators game. Like their Rochester brothers, the main channel in the Buffalo area - Channel 25/Channel 52 - will be televising the AI-RIT college hockey game.

There is no TV coverage planned for either game - LIVE or Tape Delay - on TWCSC Syracuse.

There is no TV coverage planned for Sundays home game vs Abbotsford Heat. Go Amerks!

Nice win tonight. Thought Schiestel was the Amerks best defenseman. Rooting for him, sucks he's had so many injury issues. Really steady tonight.

David Leggio posts shutout as Amerks top Heat:
Quote:
Kevin’s 3 stars
1. David Leggio, G, Amerks ... 44 saves and in control when big saves were needed.
2. Cody McCormick, C, Amerks ... 2 first-period goals provided an instant lead.
3. Luke Adam, C, Amerks ... 1 goal, 1 assist, and very good at both ends of the ice.

Cody sporting a visor? Interesting. Looks like it's protecting his hairline.

Adam's assist on the fourth goal was a hell of a play.

I know -- it's how short it is and how high up his head it is that I was poking fun at.

Girgensons with a sweet assist to Varone to make it 2-0 Amerks after 1. Ellis scored the other goal.

Not surprisingly, the Amerks blew that 2 goal lead and settled for a shooutout win, giving up a divisional point. Cassidy did his best to sabotage the game for the Amerks in the shootout by sending Crawford, Schofield, Tarnasky and Szydlowski out there.

Reminds me of the first year they had the shootout and Ruff was using it as a reward for players he thought had played well that game rather than putting out guys who are dangerous.

Amerks outlast Heat with 3-2 shootout win:
Quote:
With the win, the Amerks close out the weekend with five out of a six possible points and claimed sole possession of second place in the American Hockey League’s North Division standings with a 31-22-3-1 overall record.

Matt Ellis and Phil Varone each scored in regulation for the Amerks, who now have wins in four of their last five games and points in five straight. David Leggio, meanwhile, stopped 35 of 37 shots to pick up his AHL-leading 30th win of the season before going on to stop seven of 10 shooters in the shootout.

Ya, I wasn't shocked when it happened. Although the second Heat goal was just about as much of a fluke as humanly possible. Off the glass, off Leggio's back and in.

For the record, Luke Adam missed so many opportunities it was sad.

Even more sad was his plethora of turnovers and general overall laziness. At one point, he was coasting to the bench for a line change when a teammate (who was initially 20-30 feet behind him) passed him on the way to the bench. It was pretty pathetic.

Best part of the game was the dog taking a dump at center ice while 5000 people cheered him on.

Given the choices at the time, I think Tarnasky over Rissmiller was questionable. Crawford seems to go in every shootout and he was an offensive D in junior, so I can understand that. Legault, Schiestel, and Gauthier-Leduc (offense is his specialty) would've probably been better choices than Szydlowski and Schofield was a coin flip with those. Ellis, McCormick, and Girgensons don't strike me as good shootout performers.

For any local fans, Amazon Local has a great deal on tickets for Friday's game vs. Albany. Just picked up 2 tickets for $23. Offer expires in 2 days, I believe.

I believe I remember Rolston using Syd a few times last season in the shootout so I'll assume something is there, but the majority of those selections by The Chadd were head scratchers.

As for Adam, the tying goal developed off of a lazy turnover in his attempt to leave the zone. Not understanding the recent trend of posters on this board clamoring for an Adam call-up. There are about 6 other forwards in Rochester more deserving than him right now.

They think that if you call up Adam he will produce like he did at the beginning of last season then you can trade him. Unfortunately if you want Adam to have value the last thing you need is for people to see him.
