Hahaha yeah gotta love the knee sauce.

I called instantly when I saw the 3 on 1 that the Oilers wouldn't even register a shot on net. Oh well a worse case result would have been a wide shot instead of a pass that had more speed that would have basically sent the hawks on a 3 on 1 the other way.

Nice to see the team win a game for a change but it changes nothing in terms of how bad the roster is.

Hopefully Management isn't too self satisfied with this win.

if you have a better idea for a competent backup for next year i would like to hear it...

Come on man they likely think this is the start of something special.

Can't wait for the Oil change episode on this win. It will blur out the last 4 games or so and spend about 10 minutes on this game and how special of a moment it is for Sam Gagner playing against his old team mate but new rival in Patrick Kane and while both were up for the challenge it was Gagner's Oilers who have come out on top tonight.

Well they need someone who is more reliable/durable. But since anyone can get injured at anytime including Dubnyk maybe the best route is a significant upgrade on Danis in case our 3rd string goalie is set to see any significant time in the NHL. Who know maybe Roy will have developed enough to take on that role and if that's the case then I wouldn't bother with the oft injured Khabbibulin.

However I'm not in a position within the organization to know where these players slot in the organization and what current management and scouts think of them.

I'm pretty sure this will be that one positive blip on the radar before we go back to losing one, winning one in OT, losing two, winning one in the shootout, maybe another in regulation followed by 2 losses in ot.

Dubnyk as backup, N. Backstrom as starter

Dubnyk as 1B, Howard as 1A

Or Dubs as starter and any of Budaj, Khudobin, Ellis or Montoya as backup. Any of these scenarios would be a big improvement over Danis/injured Khabiboulin.

So what would you call that saucer pass to Whitney? Terrible?

I would like to add the 3 H line had a really good game defensively and had some good forechecking going as well.

That whole PP squad looked good. They were moving the puck quickly, accurately and with authority. Real nice work.

It's the Horcoff effect

Seguin would have sauced it so well that Hemsky would sauce it make and they would sauce until Seguin decided to make a great defensive play and sauce it top cheese skate back to the bench using all the intangibles he has left.

No, it doesn't have to make sense.

Someone explain to me why Todd Marchant and Mike Grier, not exactly the most skilled guys, were able to work a two-on-one better than anyone we have today.

Players with less skill tend to make simpler plays.

Simpler plays work more often than complex plays. I don't think the Oilers realize that.

Puck was flat on the ice...since when is that sauce?

Oh wait, I don't think you know what a saucer pass is...

Typical. Give Hall little to no credit, after a win.

Are you kidding? His tip was unreal, and he wasn't giving the puck away. That's all I expect from him and he's doing his job.

His backhand sauce is actually better than his forehand sauce, pretty odd. His backhand sauce is honestly at Nuge's level.

But that's the 5-6th time this season Hall has flubbed an odd man advantage with his shoddy saucer passes

I don't think you understand what he's saying.

A "saucer pass" is a pass that goes through the air in the shape of an upside-down saucer (hence the name).

Hall's assist was flat on the ice and was not a "saucer pass". Whatever the hell he tried to do on the three-on-one wasn't a saucer pass either... more like a casserole dish pass.

Yeah, that was my first thought after this win. I can't wait to see how "Oil Change" spins this road trip now. *silly narration/dramatic music*

A great play and read. I don't know how he even knew Whitney was there, and excellent long pass across on the tape, through sticks, with zip.

Admittedly not much as far as tangible results go, but I don't think Jones does anything better than Harski except skate. Teemu will take the puck to the net a lot as well.
