Vancouver-TB,Buf,Fla

Vancouver has been struggling as of late and there needs to be a change done or we wont make the playoffs.
we need
1) playmaking RW
2) 3rd line checking center that can fill in on the 2nd line in case of injuries
3) top 6 right handed defense man

i want to get these 3 players

RW Teddy Purcell
C Steve Ott
RHD Mike Weaver or RHD Adrian Aucoin

players willing to give up
LW David Booth
LW Mason Raymond
LW Chris Higgins
D Keith Ballard
D Andrew Alberts
RW Dale Weise
LW Anton Rodin
D Kevin Connauton
C Jordan Schroeder
G Roberto Luongo

Other teams fans what would it take for you to trade these players?
I want to end up with a roster around this idea:

D.Sedin-H.Sedin-Burrows
Booth/Raymond-Kesler-Purcell
Higgins/Raymond-Ott-Hansen
Sestito/Weise-Lapierre-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Edler-Tanev
Garrison-Weaver/Aucoin

Luongo/Schneider-Backup

Buffalo just got Ott during this past offseason so they wouldn't be so quick to let him go.

Do we even have enough futures to acquire those players while keeping our core basically intact?

Weaver and Aucoin should come pretty cheap.

Purcell and Ott are going to get a fair return in which I dont know if the canucks can pay for it.

Ott might get a 2nd and a decent prospect but I dont see who we could give up unless they want to take schroeder which doesnt make sense.

Buffalo could be your one stop shopping point.....

RW Pominville
C Ott
D Weber, Leopold, or Regehr

From Vancouver it would be young players, picks ,and prospects coming back.

I have no idea what that package would cost. Jensen + Schroeder + Ballard/Booth + 2 1sts?

Like I said before, Buffalo isn't going to get rid of Ott so early. I wouldn't get rid of Weber either. He's a solid defenseman. Leopold/Regher-yes. If Vancouver is looking for some veteran Dmen. Sabres are looking to rebuild with young players.

I would consider doing Purcell for a 1st (long proponent of a good passing winger for the Kesler line) but we'd have to do something about Booth or Ballard to make room.
Edit: To me, Frankie Corrado is a no-go right now, since his development has really hit another gear in the past year.

you would have to be taking salary back. Purcell is going to make 4.5mill next season and we wont have the cap space to deal with that. would you be interested in a trade around Luongo? something like

G Roberto Luongo(retains 30% of salary after 5 years*so you dont get stuck with him at a cap hit of 5.3mill, it will be far more manageable)+ mid-level prospect for RW Teddy Purcell, G Matthieu Garon and a mid-high level prospect or pick.

would you go for that?

To be honest I don't wan to see Luongo in a Bolts jersey with a contract longer than 4 years. He is a great goalie, but I don't want his contract, we already have Lecavaliers big contract.

I'm not sure why everybody hates Purcells contract, you get a first line winger who is near a PPG rate. If he can play like last year again (another coach could really help him) , he is worth any Dollar of his contract. But I would be okay with retaining some salary.

my big problem with Purcell is that he may be benefiting heavily off of his line mates. His assist numbers may be inflated because of that and i dont know if thats worth it. however if he truly is making his own money then how about Ballard+ a prospect or a pick for Purcell?

The consensus among Vancouver fans is if Luongo goes to TBL we'd want Purcell & Connolly back. That seems to have mixed feelings amongst TBL fans, so lets not turn this into a Luongo thread.

I want Purcell I just don't see why he'd be available for picks. He's just been extended for a fair price, and he seems to mesh well with his line-mates in Tampa Bay. I'd give a 1st for Purcell, I'd rather keep Corrado for the time being.

Why are so many Nuck fans wanting Weaver? Yes Garrison did well with Weaver, but Garrison was much better last season with Soup.

1. Campbell makes $7,142,875.
2. Weaver doesn't make $7,142,875.

Obviously, point being, Garrison last season wasn't because of Weaver.

Pairing Garrison back with Weaver would give the Canucks one of the better shut down third pairings in the NHL, but thats not what the Canucks pay 4.6 million for Garrison to do...

Uhg... I would very reluctantly accept that offer. Tanev had been great for us, playing like a top 4 defenseman for under a million a year. We need a top 6 forward more though, and it isn't like Purcell is a rental. I'd much rather trade our 1st, but I'd move Tanev if necessary.
