How would Sabres fans feel about a trade looking like

David Booth
Mason Raymond

for

Jason Pominville
Johen Hecht

?

I'd hope Gillis can acquire a decent 3rd line center without giving up Raymond. Ott is the player from Buffalo he should be after anyways.

Not close. Booth holds little value. He looks like he basically provides what Stafford has this year (when he isn't injured): a 3rd liner's play on a 2nd liner's salary. If Buffalo decides to blow it all up and trade the team captain, the asking price is going to be quite a bit higher than that. I'd guess 1st + good prospect/young player with upside + servicable roster player.

Wait what?

I think it is common sense that Hodgson is better than Kassian, and right now Hodgson is essentially exactly what the Canucks are in need of.

That being said, as much as it sucks to have lost Hodgson, Kassian is one hell of a consolation prize.

Don't tell me I'm not a Canucks fan just because I actually have common sense and do not wear biased glasses.

Absolutely awful for Buffalo. Booth is overpaid and we already have an overpaid, under-producing winger in Stafford. I have no interest in Raymond. Buffalo doesn't need a soft yet speedy winger with inconsistency issues. We have enough of those too. Those two players won't come close to landing you one of our best players and captain.

As for the OP, it's terrible for Vancouver; if I'm offered a younger roster player for Hecht as a Sabres fan I take it and run. We'd be happy with a late pick, even FC for Hecht at this point. I think Freddy Modin compares in this case; he went for a seventh to Calgary and for FC to Los Angeles. At this point Hecht is a fourth liner and has even been a healthy scratch. I doubt he plays next season. He offers almost nothing anymore. Besides the PK and being a veteran leader he doesn't do anything else. Slow, poor decisions and turnovers, and doesn't look like he cares half the time. His offense is also completely gone to the point where some of the only shots on goal he gets now are those backhand floaters coming off the right wing. We'll take anything for him and I mean anything. He's a step away from retirement. However, due to respect and sentimentality towards the player, I don't think Regier will trade him unless Hecht wants to be. He'll just let the longest-tenured Sabre retire in Buffalo on his own terms or go back to Germany if he wishes to keep playing.

As for Ott, fans of other teams need to stop asking for him. He's simply not available.

Well I guess that is payback for the awful OP and that awful Hect + Adam for Raymond + Pick proposal Lol. (Kidding)

But seriously to the OP, not a chance, something around Raymond for Ott (Which Buffalo won't do) Or no dice.

I'd take a 2043 9th rounder for Hecht at this point.

No need for Raymond......

If you want Hecht just offer a draft pick.

You're def not getting Ott for Raymond..

And no go with the Pominville and Hecht for Raymond and Booth.

Hecht for a 4th or 5th and call it a day.

Can the stick win a faceoff? If yes, deal.

For Hecht, I'll give up Kesler's used cast when he's done with it.

Hecht will get a 4th at worse come the deadline, Vancouver makes sense as an insurance policy. A few teams could be interested.
