I hope he sticks with the wrister and just learns to use it more frequently. Lidstrom primarily used his wrister, and with amazing success. Brodin has great aim, that sucker frequently gets on net, he just needs to be a little more assertive with it.
To me, it wasn't just the wrister with Lidstrom, it was his slapshot through traffic that ALWAYS was on goal. So many of his points were assists off rebounds and goals through incredibly tight windows from his slap shot. Easily the most accurate point shot I have ever seen. If Brodin can add that to his game, it's going to be even more fun to watch.

gee, maybe he should have stayed in the AHL like pretty much everyone thought to work on his offense. :/

we'd see the slapper more if he were given heavy PP minutes. as it is it seems we generate most of our offense from taking it from behind the net and passing it to the circles, not bombing it from the points and picking up rebounds. He doesn't really have the opportunity to unleash the fury!

Brodin is basically a mix of Karlsson and Lidstrom, but without Lidstrom's shot and Karlsson's wheels.

Not a bad thing.

He does lack those things, but what's lacking the comparison is this smooooth and extreme mobility that Brodin possesses.

No, not bad at all.

Take it for what it's worth but Bob McKenzie chose Brodin as higher player on Calder ballot between Schultz and Muzzin.

Still nice to see a Brodin mention on TSN tonight!

I can't wait to post the TSN.ca link when it's up.

Everything he said on Brodin was spot on.

Won't happen, because somehow the Norris turned into the "highest scoring defensemen" award, instead of best overall defensemen.

Resisting the temptation to post the latest installment of our best prospect vote thread.... so little love for Brodin for #1 overall (not saying i called it or anything  )

No this kid is freaking unreal so smooth so poised, its no wonder Suter is playing better he has a partner he can trust in any situation.

Imagine the reaction on HF...

...if Suter won the Norris (possible, but unlikely)

AND

...if Brodin won the Calder (again possible, but unlikely)

Would people start thinking we have the best d-pair in the league?

I sent a smartass tweet to Russo a while back, essentially when Nashville GM said Suter had a chance to be on one of the best pairing ever he was right, it just won't be Suter Weber but Suter Brodin

his name plate should be removed and replaced with "your wet dream" on the back.
