That's the problem it didn't need to be acrobatic and as you said it took him out of the play.

Is Baertschi happy in Calgary?

Wow. Sven Baertschi doesn't seem too happy about his season:

Quote:
... “It’s disappointing. I never wanted to be at that point where they had to send me down, for whatever reason. And now, I’m here, and it’s frustrating,” Baertschi said.

“It hasn’t been the season I wished for so far. As soon as the season started, it was going uphill. I was excited. I was playing. And then, for whatever reason, it kind of lost fun.

I didn’t get many opportunities to do something, and it just went downhill from there. It was a tough situation. The truth is, I kind of saw it coming, too. That was the problem for me. You never want to be in a situation where you see something bad coming. ...

Hopefully Nemisz and Calgary's other bust prospects in Abbotsford get together with Baertschi and compare notes about how bad the organization is. Maybe they'll say "Don't worry about it. The organization sucks and screwed up our development too. We should demand a trade!"

The Flames organization is pretty much in freefall right now. Another loss to the Kings tonight and Calgarypuck might explode.

Kings already up 2-0 on the Flames. Looks like they'll be staying in last.

Kid looked like a good prospect at the start of year, but 1 point will get you sent down. Better shelter him in the AHL instead of keeping him on the 4th line. Bring him up in 2 years when the other prospects are coming up

Rob Kerr makes me appreciate Kevin Quinn.

His shrieking and contrived excitement everytime the Flames get a shot on net is super annoying.

I guess he's being paid to put lipstick on a pig.

The Oilers are the biggest disappointment in the Western Conference as per Sportsnet's Hockeycentral. Can't say that I'm surprised by the honor. I'm sure that TSN gave us the same distinction on their mid-season show.

Interestingly Ottawa lost in the shootout.

If I'm a coach this guy doesn't see the shootout rotation for awhile.

The nerve of him. What grandstanding, only Oiler rookies should attempt that.

Positives: The Flames only lost by 2, showing their management that this team can compete with the best teams in the West!

He did it in the AHL in 2010 and it worked. His form was a lot better.

But then again, it was an AHL goalie.

I've been talking about the Flames being in the mix and doing their usual charge for 9th but this is pretty damning.

We're halfway through the NHL season and 22% of the Flames wins have been against Richard Bachman. That can't be good.

The thing is not many are shocked where we are in the standings, it's the simple fact that we are having problems scoring.

LOL 'd like to know who that goalie was.

Like Replacement said unless you are an idiot that swhould be an easy stop for the goalie let's take a look using physics.

Stick on top of puck with downward force to the ground.

% chance of puck moving upwards off the ice: 0

What do you do as a goalie? Take away the bottom? I dunno this is where is get tough.

Exactly. When you pull that type of **** the goalie knows you have one play and one intent with the floor hockey move. Except this being a puck and you can't lift it like the stupid rings we played with in floor hockey.

Do schools still play that in Elementary?

A goalie would have to be asleep and/or brain dead not to figure out how to deal with this attempt.
