Baltica Brewery Cup Roster

The Finnish team for the Baltica Brewery Cup was announced today as well (as the WJC team). The most interesting players from NHL pointview would be Janne Niskala, Jukka Voutilainen and Mika Pyörälä. All the others are either already drafted and/or have passed the point of their careers when they could be considered as prospects.

Tomek Valtonen and Janne Hauhtonen have been selected to replace Pasi Määttänen and Erkki Rajamäki, both of whom are sick.

Strange that so few young players were chosen.

Finland will eat the Swedish team alive, at least they should.

Yup. They are by far the best team of the tournament on paper. I just hope sweden can score at least one more goal than in the last tournament..

Just curious Jarkko Immonen of JYP was one of the best Finns in the Karjala Cup recently....

Why would he not play in this Tourney??

There is an agreement that players will not play in all four tournaments (was it 2/4 or 3/4 - I am not completely sure). They need rest too like we all do need.

I believe it's 2 out of 4. Although Team Finland head coach Raimo Summanen would like to change it 3 out of four.
