Seems like after a night if drinking with the boys he went into the wrong house to sleep it off.

Don't think he'll be in the Panthers Organization next year. He's a RFA and I doubt they give him a qualifing offer after this to retain his rights. He's a depth guy which means easily replaceable.

Unfortunate situation. Kid is a good player, especially if put in a 4th line role. Peter DeBoer seemed to like him, maybe he'll get a chance to reunite with him

it's called being too wasted for your own good. there is no way this was intentional. he deserves the charges pressed.

but geez, the comments on the original news article are ridiculous. obviously, the lady did the only right thing to protect her children and run away... but now that the confusion has cleared the threats against the man are ridiculous. i'd just be happy my family is okay rather than beating my chest because i'm embarrassed we didn't lock our doors.

timmins is done. sad!!!

Geez that Benjamin sounds like a maniac! Reminds me of the guy from Detroit that wanted to shot people in a park in Calgary because they spoke to him during the Stampede!

Would you not do the same if you woke up in the middle of the night to find a stranger sitting and sleeping on your couch? A little different than wanting to shoot someone for speaking to you.

Good thing he's still alive. He has some potential. I doubt he sticks with us next year, though.

closed the one on the main board, not sure why.

this is a classic story for most canadian high schools...where you wake up, realise you're 2 towns over and ask the owner for a ride to work. good times.

I'm sure he'll be more careful going forward, this won't affect his career. Just a mistake. Love the 'font worry about that' comment.

I'd be surprised if he was still a Panther for much longer. Easily replacable. Maybe it's just me.

Why wouldn't he be a Panther, though?

He's an easily replaceable player who obviously has some problems. The "he's young" excuse pretty much ends when you black out. I agree that he probably won't stick here a lot longer.

Oh, didn't know he was the only player to get drunk and do something stupid. It's a misdemeanor. Not saying he should get a slap on the wrist, but he doesn't have problems. Not based solely on this.

It could affect his career potentially, if he's not US citizen. He has to shell out serious amount of money to hire lawyer and get sentence downgraded.

It did happened to me. Woke up to go to the bathroom and there was someone in the hallway. I went to the bathroom and gave him a blanket, put my laptop in my room and left a note to tell him he's in a stranger's house and to leave in the morning or to make me pancake. He left me a thank you note and I received a card with a 20$ a week later.
