perdict TSN power rankings 2006-7

I bet Toronto gets a better rating then the Habs right off the bat.

In fact I predict Toronto gets a 10th spot and the Habs get a 15th spot.

TSN = Toronto Sports Network

They have to keep their fan base happy. 38 years of not getting close to even contend for a championship will do that.

The issue that bothers me is having those two idiots Neale & Cole on national broadcasts. Late last season a poster on the Oiler board said that the CBC is looking to changeing that this year. For Canada's teams that have contended and are contenders I hope this is true.

if they are honest they will place Toronto below Montreal based on team chemistry alone not to mention talent...but it is TSN ...so we will probably get a biased report on how the Leafs will contend for President's Trophy on their way to the Finals !

ah come on.. when you go with RDS, they do the same thing and almost always put Montreal in the top 2 of the division, behind Ottawa only..

and I don't care.. it's just funnier like that because, at the end of the year, we can laugh at TSN for their stupid rankings lol

People need to get over their obsession with "power" rankings. The only rankings that matter are the ones in the standings.

Ya, which is why he always underranks the Habs - so people don't call him biased.

You know, this is really starting to annoy me. Why do people get a chubby bashing TSN? I think they are the only true national sports network (except maybe for sportsnet, which actually provides regional coverage) and do their best to give a broad perspective for all franchises. I will agree that in the past they have been very toronto-centric, but it hasn't been like that in some time. They have a great collection of sports analysts (Bob Mackenzie and Scott Cullen, for example) and they try to provide equal analysis of every team. You want to rant about a biased network, have a field day on CBC, you'll get no argument from me. But TSN took the criticism to heart and really altered their approach and in my opinion offer a much better product.

By the way, they may have ranked the Leafs ahead of us the last 6-7 years but there's a reason for it, and if you get real close to the screen I'll tell you what it was... THEY WERE BETTER THAN US!

last year, half the broadcaster had them from 6th to 8th in the league

this year it should be from 4th to 8th

RDS is about 30 or 40 times more biased than TSN. Talk about calling the kettle black...

On last year's pre-season panel, TSN had four experts there and 3 of them predicted Montréal as the surprise team in the East that would finish in the top 4. But yeah, tsn hates the habs, blabla, whatever...

What's so great about Montréal's team chemistry?

Do you forget that this is the team where the captain punches a teammate in the mouth because he doesn't like him?

I think the problem is that TSN tries to pride itself on being a national sports network, and still give the impression to people that they are Toronto centric (which is a valid point, but I think also people forget its a private company trying to make money...they'll go to the bigger market all the time, no matter what). RDS never claims to be a national network, and is quite clearly a station for Quebec, and makes no hidden assumptions otherwise.

Was it before or after the lock-out? We must stop living in the past.
