This will delay Granlund's development but I guess the organization feels playoffs this year is the highest priority. Its definitely better then sitting him.

granlund has talent , he just needs some confidence. playing him on the 3rd or 4th line is not the best use of his talents so it makes sense to give him some more time on the aeros. ( i hope he agrees with that)

Worked for Johansen in CBJ. Kid has been pretty damn consistent and much better from the games over the weekend.

I think the opposite actually, this might be the best thing that could happen to him. Watching from the press box is not going to develop him. The kid needs to play, and play a lot consistently, and not on the bottom six.

They're going to give a developing prospect minutes now? Novel concept.

I think that day will come too. It may not be with the Wild, but I think it'll come.

At this point there were no other logical options for the sake of his development. He may not be back this season unless someone from the top 6 gets injured, but we haven't seen the last of him.

I'm very happy with this. And there are no taylorhalls to play like retarded baboons now in the AHL either.

About god damn time. The kid needs to play and 4th line/popcorn duties just wont help his development at all.

Poor kid.

Hopefully he tears the A up and gets a big confidence boost!

I'm just a bit miffed they didn't send him down earlier, but I guess hindsight is always 20/20. Now that the lines seem to be finally solidified there is just no room for Granlund up here anymore.

Because being scratched was great for his "confidence".

I'd be worried if he wasn't disappointed. Shows that he clearly wants to be in the Wild roster.

I don't his confidence is that affected. He's a strong kid mentally - I'm sure he understands that making it to the NHL takes a LOT of work.

Is there any way he comes back before the season is over or the playoffs if we hopefully get there? I am new to this AHL stuff.

Yeah, he can come up and down without waivers whenever.

Thanks. I wonder what the plan will be for him. If we will see him again before the season is over. Yes, when he comes back he needs to be on one of those top lines and not the 3rd or 4th. That was such a waste.

He'll be used in all situations down in Houston.

Long overdue. However it's not what you like to see for a player that once was a top prospect.

Eh, he still is a top prospect, an AHL stint doesn't chance that.
