No. It's only if he plays in juniors prior to being drafted by an NHL team.

JT Miller was selected by the Plymouth Whalers in the 2009 OHL Priority Draft. The Rangers drafted him in 2011. He was commited to UND, but opted to go to Plymouth instead. He played there for 1 year, then started in the AHL at age 19.

I thought JT was drafted into the OHL after his draft, which allowed him to leave early?

its where they were playing when they were drafted by the NHL team. miller was drafted out of NTDP. Nieves was drafted out of USHL. both are not subjected to CHL age rule of 20 before playing in AHL.

Players drafted by an NHL team aren't obligated to play in the NHL. By the same token, players drafted by a CHL team aren't obligated to play in the CHL. If a player plays for a CHL team prior to being drafted into the NHL, only then they are obligated to play in the CHL until age 20 or until they have played 4 years in the CHL.

He was drafted by Plymouth in 2009. However, until you play a game for that team, you're not considered to be bound by the CHL transfer agreement. Hence he was technically drafted out of the USNTDP and the transfer agreement wasn't applicable.

I'd love for Nieves to come up here in Mississauga. I would go out and watch everyone of his games. Le sigh.

Dramatic fall indeed by the scouts. Can't say it isn't warranted, he hasn't been any good this year.

I've really liked his game recently.

Dramatic fall? He wasn't drafted in the top-25, so how exactly did he fall?

He didn't make the top 50 apparently. (Unless I'm misinterpreting it)

The top 50 is a complete prospect list, not just 2012 draftees.

So the guy that we took at 28th overall isn't ranked in the top 25, and we're calling that a dramatic fall?

Do you know who else "underwhelmed" in college? McDonagh. I think Skjei will be fine.

Yeah it's the top-25 based on who was included in the 2013 "Hot List". Not just a top-25 from that draft.

Look you guys can argue about some strong Canadian grinders that score 70 points a year (I can't think of a single one) and a defenseman that scores 50 points being a wheelbarrow. Or the fact Edmonton gets every blue chip prospect only to waste them on a ****** team. All I ask, I mean what I want to know... is when are the Rangers going to get themselves one of those late round obscure offensive DIVAS to call our own. When will we get our own Henrik Zetterberg or Pavel Datsyuk, I think there are only two of those and Lundqvist as far as getting any superstars in the late rounds. Does anyone know any other teams prospects drafted after the first two rounds who projects to be an offensive Diva? Is Jesper Fasth our best candidate for that? Will it be Michael St. Croix?

I don't think we have anyone fit to that description.

Jesper Fasth is probably our best bet. But that's not really a bad thing. Fasth has been incredible in one of the top leagues in the entire world this year, and he's only 21.

I don't have too much faith in St. Croix to be that kind of guy. I think he'll be a fringe Top 6 player.

Fasth looks like a steal

Hagelin?

Girardi is undrafted

I have high hopes for:
Andersson
Noreau
St Croix

I do think St. Croix will be an offensive wizard. Just not for a Tortorella coached team.

What kind of defenseman is Andersson? Is he a puck mover or more of the same Ranger type well rounded defense first defenseman?

I see Hagelin as more a north american style player with wheels than a true offensive diva sweede.

Puck mover. Very flashy, great shot. More of a rover than anything the Rangers currently have.

Lindberg is playing on 3rd line with Petter Emanuelsson and Melker Karlsson as opposed to the usual Holloway and Moller. His pt totals will possibly take a dip.
