Jason Arnott

After signing with the Rangers and then failing the medical, followed by an unsuccessful tryout with the Blues, does Jason Arnott get a contract by the deadline? Or has he played his last NHL game?

For what it's worth, the Blues management made it sound like he had a good week of practice, but we just didn't have room on the roster with a couple of our guys coming back from injury soon, and being forced to carry 3 goalies. Obviously I didn't see him skate, so I have no idea if they were just spouting niceties, or if they were serious. I think there's a chance he signs with someone that is depleted with long term injuries.

I wouldn't mind if the Oilers signed him.

He might actually be an upgrade on Belanger, who I would trade for a pick if Arnott signed.

Not for Arnott we aren't. He's not better defensively than any of the centers we have right now. All signing him would do is staple Grigorenko to the bench when he could be getting experience.

Maybe a center pillar to hold up your arena.

Yeah he's done, I mean, that's just my opinion. A team could sign him, but after going 0 for 2 on signing with a team, he's probably either going to play in the AHL, Europe or retire.

You don't want him around your young players. Trust me.

Both the Rags and Blues were looking for anyone to play a small role for them and he couldn't get on with either. He is done.

I'm upset that the Canucks are so desperate for help at centre that I'd consider them taking a chance on Arnott

Kesler played pretty well with Sundin a few years ago.

Jason Arnott has a lot in common with dinner.

Yeah, near the stretch, you always see a few old guys get another chance due to injuries.
