Ya agreed it could be the youth not being strong enough or maybe he really is such a beast and I just didn't notice. But while he was injured there were a lot of trade proposals involving him, even i debated a trade involving him but now no way. He is such an asset to have going forward as we work on evolving our young guys, and that line with him Alfie and Z.Smith I mean wow I have been impressed, even when not scoring they just kept the Rangers working in their end it was great.

Considering he needs surgery I am pretty worried he's going to seriously aggravate his knee

We don't know for sure what's going on, but yeah what he's doing seems pretty retarded.

My assumption is doctors told him that playing through the pain would not cause any additional damage.

I understand that

However Michalek has bad knee history so I am worried regardless

People who make the NHL don't strike me as guys that enjoy "not working" as much as us regular folks: they want to be playing as much as possible. Especially in the NHL we know all about players playing through stuff they shouldn't have and ended up making things a lot worse (Marc Savard being one of the most recent examples I can think of).

I'm just concerned but I understand why Michalek wants to play, I love the guy's attitude (less than enamoured with other aspects of his game but gotta give the guy credit)

The prognosis might be the same with daily-rehab vs. surgery + rehab, as is the case with many injuries.

^This is probably true but I dont see why michalek didnt choose to get the surgery especially if it was a 4-6 weeks recovery, if he had the surgery about 2 weeks ago he would be back by early-mid april and if the sens hang on to a playoffs spot by then, then they would have a healthy and rested michalek and spezza

Just get the surgery done Milo, the boys can hold the fort without you for the rest of the season.

Should have traded him in the offseason while his trade value was sky high. Dude is useless without Spezza.

Agreed but i wouldn't say useless. Still a good 2nd liner. Just not a 30 goal scorer.

On pace for a 55 pts season, just more assists than when with Spezza. Certainly looked dangerous in his last outing.

Since it says in that article he would be back for the post season he should probably just have the surgery now, so the injury doesn't keep nagging him.

Indeed.

SensChirp @SensChirp

#Sens still seem to be saying "day to day" but I'm hearing that Milan Michalek's season is likely done. Disappointing, if that's the case.

Great flavin' mavin'! Who's next?

Wow, I hope the Sens medical staff does a better job handing Karlsson and Spezza's injuries then they did with this one. Jesus

The guy is just damaged goods now. If we ever decide to trade him I don't think we will get anywhere close to his healthy value. Not saying we would try and trade him anyways.

It's for the best, I'd rather see Michalek healthy and good to go in a month than see him continue to be day-to-day and broken (for lack of a better word) for the rest of the season.
