Tremendous amount of respect for this Bruins team, and how they play the game. With that being said if the pens lose tonight, which I feel will happen, can still be a positive. I am hoping for a strong physical performance tonight. If we bring that we can win, or have a respectable loss to a very impressive opponent.
Since our skill players are going to have to get around Chara to score, I think 71 will be missed even more than usual. Crosby has been playing at a ridiculous level of late, though, so it'll be interesting to see if he can continue to consistently create legitimate scoring opportunities against this defensively strong Bruins team.
If I had to put money on the game, I'd bet against the Pens. But I want more than anything to be proved wrong tonight.
I've heard from a few Bruins fans that Johnny Boychuk hasn't been playing all that well this season. SO, I would think it'd be imperative for Crosby to work the left side of the ice more than the right side of the ice tonight. Keep away from Chara, work on Boychuk's side. Of course, if you can get the Crosby line away from that match-up, all the better. But the same would apply...attack rookie Dougie Hamilton's side, not Dennis Seidenberg's side.
This should be a highly interesting game to see just where these two teams are at in the East.
For my money, Boston is the team to beat in the East.
